Eigen Labs is building the infrastructure for a more trustworthy internet.
Today's digital world runs on trust-me promises: "Trust that this AI model is giving you unbiased results." "Trust that this platform isn't manipulating your feed." "Trust that this service will honor its commitments." These trust assumptions create massive friction and limit what's possible online.
EigenCloud changes this by making any digital service verifiable. Built on our EigenLayer protocol, which has attracted billions in economic security, EigenCloud lets developers build applications with mathematical trust guarantees instead of pinky promises.
For developers, this means the best of both worlds: Use familiar cloud tools and programming environments while gaining blockchain-level verifiability. No need to rewrite your application in specialized blockchain languages or accept the limitations of smart contract environments.
For the world, this unlocks transformative applications:
AI systems with economic accountability for their outputs
Social platforms with verifiable, manipulation-resistant algorithms
Prediction markets that can resolve on any real-world event
Financial services with cryptographic transparency
Any application where trust and correctness matter
We're moving beyond crypto's current focus on digital money to make all digital interactions more trustworthy. With the fastest-growing developer ecosystem in crypto and backing from top-tier investors, we're at the inflection point where verifiable computing goes mainstream.
Ready to build the trust layer for the internet? We're looking for builders who want to solve hard problems and create technology that makes the digital world fundamentally more reliable.
The RoleThis role will be on our EigenDA team: Provisioning data availability is one of the key components for scaling blockchains, and specifically Layer2 rollups. EigenDA is a secure, high throughput, and decentralized data availability (DA) service built on top of Ethereum using the EigenLayer restaking primitive. Developed by Eigen Labs, EigenDA is the first Autonomous Verifiable Service (AVS) to launch on EigenLayer. Restakers will be able to delegate stake to node operators performing validation tasks for EigenDA in exchange for service payments, and rollups will be able to post data to EigenDA in order to access lower transaction costs, higher transaction throughput, and secure composability across the EigenLayer ecosystem.
You will get an opportunity to develop deep expertise in rollup architecture and implementation while making upstream contributions to various rollup frameworks, where generic DA has yet to be developed. You will have a significant impact on DA's ability to provide value to Rollups, the EigenLayer product, the DeFi industry, and the world. All while working alongside the biggest projects and brightest minds in DeFi and Ethereum. If you’re looking to collaborate with a talented team of engineers, driving innovation and inventing groundbreaking technologies, we look forward to hearing from you!
This is a full-time position that is fully remote or located with the largely Seattle-based team.
What You Will DoOwn and deliver large features end-to-end, thinking through everything from customer experience, system reliability, scalability, operability, and ongoing metrics.
Design, implement, and maintain EigenDA integrations with major rollup frameworks like Optimism, Arbitrum, Scroll, and ZK rollups such as ZkSync.
Build and advance fraud-proof support, zk framework compatibility, and off-chain signature verification systems.
Make original contributions to the broader DA community, including DA interfaces for various rollup stacks, open-source projects, and research-oriented writing on the design space of DA solutions.
Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation, technical specs, and collateral for rollup integrations, empowering the developer community.
Contribute thought leadership through technical blog posts, conference talks, and community-driven projects to position EigenDA as a leader in blockchain scalability solutions.
Collaborate with Researchers and Engineers to design and build distributed systems, ensuring alignment with cutting-edge cryptographic protocols and consensus mechanisms.
Proactively engage in technical discussions, sprint and roadmap planning, and advocate for engineering best practices.
Contribute to design/code reviews, standups, and team processes to drive consistent quality and innovation.
BS in Computer Science or related technical field (e.g., physics or mathematics).
5+ years of backend distributed systems experience.
2+ years of full life cycle development in statically-typed languages such as Go, Rust, C++, or Java.
Strong understanding of blockchain operations and cryptographic protocols.
Hands-on experience designing and building distributed systems, particularly in blockchain systems and rollup architectures.
Proficiency with containerization tools like Docker for building, deploying, and managing containers.
Strong prototyping skills with the ability to write accurate and clear design documents addressing specific end-user challenges.
Ability to thrive as a self-guided learner and contribute independently.
High-level knowledge of rollup architectures, blockchain design, and consensus mechanisms.
Bonus Points
Proficiency in reading/writing Solidity smart contracts.
Ability to write well for public consumption, such as blog posts, technical documentation, and research pieces.
Experience presenting technical topics at conferences or as a public speaker.
You're an educator at heart and enjoy helping teammates learn.
