We build powerful, scalable, and elegant software that sets a new standard for the tools upon which our first responders rely. Our users are diverse, and we are committed to embracing diversity of thought and experience within our team.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team, focused on enabling applied AI across the organization through scalable internal tools and integrations. You will sit at the intersection of IT, security, and business operations, helping to identify high-impact opportunities and turn them into practical, production-ready solutions.

This is a hands-on engineering role centered on building the systems, integrations, and patterns that allow teams across the company to effectively adopt and scale AI in their day-to-day work.

You will be part of the Information Security team, working closely with partners across Product, Finance, Operations, and Customer Success to bring secure and effective AI capabilities into internal workflows.

Our team is based in Boston, MA with a hybrid schedule of two days per week in the office. We are also a remote-friendly company with flexibility depending on role and location.

What You’ll Do

If you were part of our team, here are some things you would have done last week:

  • Built and deployed a reusable AI-powered service or integration that enabled a business team to automate a critical workflow
  • Designed and implemented connectors between AI systems and internal or third-party platforms such as Salesforce or Workday
  • Partnered with stakeholders to identify a high-impact opportunity and translated it into a scalable internal tool or workflow
  • Improved reliability and performance of an existing AI-enabled system by debugging across APIs, services, and infrastructure
  • Evaluated new AI tools or frameworks and contributed to decisions on how they can be securely adopted at scale
  • Partnered with InfoSec to ensure systems meet security, compliance, and governance standards
  • Led a working session or demo to help teams understand and adopt new AI-enabled capabilities
  • Built reusable components, services, or patterns that make it easier for other teams to leverage AI

What You’ll Need

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience in software engineering or related technical roles. This level of experience is important because the role requires independently scoping ambiguous problems, designing scalable systems, and delivering production-ready solutions that can be adopted across the organization.

People who thrive on our team also tend to share the following characteristics:

  • Curious and pragmatic engineers who enjoy solving ambiguous problems and building systems that others rely on
  • Collaborative and business-minded, with the ability to understand workflows and translate them into scalable technical solutions
  • Ownership-driven, with a focus on delivering measurable impact and enabling others through their work
  • Thoughtful about security, scalability, and long-term maintainability

You will also bring:

  • Strong hands-on experience building and shipping production systems using modern programming languages and frameworks
  • Experience working with AI technologies such as LLMs and an understanding of how to integrate them into applications and workflows
  • Strong experience with REST APIs, microservices, and system integrations
  • Experience building internal tools, platforms, or shared services used by multiple teams
  • Familiarity with authentication and security patterns such as OAuth, JWT, and IAM
  • Ability to debug across full-stack systems including services, APIs, workflows, and cloud infrastructure
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Hybrid in Boston, MA (2 days per week in-office)

Nice to have

  • Experience building AI-powered applications using tools such as OpenAI, Claude, or similar platforms
  • Experience with enterprise automation or integration platforms
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with data governance, security, and compliance in enterprise environments
