The Senior Software Engineer will lead technical design and development of back-end services, mentor junior engineers, and optimize deep learning platforms.

We are looking for a talented, highly motivated software engineer with proficiency in C# programming. This engineer will play a key role in the development of our proprietary deep learning platform. Together with Cognitiv’s team of engineers and data scientists, you will help build the next generation of tools to train and execute artificial neural networks at scale to solve complex big data problems.
This position will be located in the Bellevue, WA office with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in office (Mon/Tue/Wed) and 2 days remote (Thursday/Friday).
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design, architecture and development of critical projects
- Analyze new and existing system requirements and propose novel solutions
- Implement efficient back-end services using C# and Postgres
- Upgrade existing .NET applications
- Be a mentor for Junior Engineers through Code Reviews, Pair Programming, Design Reviews.
- Develop automated testing and benchmarking routines
Requirements
- BS or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or related field
- 4 + years development building back-end services in .Net Framework
- 4+ years’ experience programming with object-oriented language (C#, Java/Scala, etc.)
- 4+ years of experience designing and implementing RDBMS data models. Experience in Postgres, MSSQL, Oracle, etc.
- Ability to own services end-to-end in service life cycle (planning, design, delegation, release, testing, etc.)
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
- Used to being held to high expectations

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using enterprise cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
- Experience with containerized application (Docker)
- Experience with Distributed Query Engines (Presto, Spark, ClickHouse, etc.)
- Ability to optimize query execution, data partitioning, etc.
- Experience with Terraform (infrastructure as code)
Salary
- $160,000-$200,000 Base Salary + Equity
