Binance is a leading global blockchain ecosystem behind the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume and registered users. We are trusted by 300+ million people in 100+ countries for our industry-leading security, user fund transparency, trading engine speed, deep liquidity, and an unmatched portfolio of digital-asset products. Binance offerings range from trading and finance to education, research, payments, institutional services, Web3 features, and more. We leverage the power of digital assets and blockchain to build an inclusive financial ecosystem to advance the freedom of money and improve financial access for people around the world.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Reconciliation team. You will design and build high-throughput reconciliation systems that ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial data across trading, settlement, and fee/commission pipelines. The role sits at the intersection of backend engineering and data development — you need to be equally comfortable writing production Java services and wrangling large-scale data with Flink and Hive.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement reconciliation frameworks to detect discrepancies across financial systems (trading, settlement, commission, etc.)
  • Build and maintain real-time and batch data pipelines using Apache Flink and Hive
  • Write complex SQL for data validation, anomaly detection, and root-cause analysis
  • Collaborate with Finance, Risk, and Product teams to define reconciliation rules and SLAs
  • Optimize system performance and reliability for high-volume, low-latency reconciliation scenarios
  • Leverage AI/LLM tooling to accelerate development, automate anomaly triage, and improve operational efficiency

Requirements

  • 3+ years of backend development experience, primarily in Java
  • Strong SQL skills — able to write and optimize complex queries for large datasets
  • Hands-on experience with big data frameworks: Apache Flink (streaming) and Hive (batch/warehouse)
  • Data-sensitive mindset: comfortable reasoning about data accuracy, consistency, and edge cases
  • Experience in financial reconciliation, settlement systems, or data quality engineering is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with AI tools (Copilot, LLM-based automation, etc.) and ability to apply them in daily engineering work is a plus

Nice to have

  • Experience with data warehousing concepts (partitioning, slowly changing dimensions, data lineage)
  • Familiarity with Kafka, Spark, or similar data infrastructure
  • Background in crypto, fintech, or high-frequency trading environments

Why Binance
• Shape the future with the world’s leading blockchain ecosystem
• Collaborate with world-class talent in a user-centric global organization with a flat structure
• Tackle unique, fast-paced projects with autonomy in an innovative environment
• Thrive in a results-driven workplace with opportunities for career growth and continuous learning
• Competitive salary and company benefits
• Work-from-home arrangement (the arrangement may vary depending on the work nature of the business team)

Binance is committed to being an equal opportunity employer. We believe that having a diverse workforce is fundamental to our success.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
