The Solution Architect for Mission Controls/ Data Center is responsible for designing, integrating, and optimizing mission-critical systems that support real-time BMS/EPMS monitoring, control, and analytics. This role bridges business needs, operational requirements, and technical architecture to ensure high availability, security, scalability, and performance of data center mission control environments.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
Experience: Experience with monitoring, control systems, or real-time data platforms. Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Systems Architect, or similar role. Knowledge of mission-critical environments using PLC’s, SCADA, Rockwell and Ignition software, EPMS software knowledge. preferred. Architecture or cloud certifications a plus.
Travel: 30-50%
Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs end-to-end solution architectures for mission control systems, including data gathering, processing, visualization, and BMS/EPMS control platforms
- Defines architecture standards, reference designs, and best practices for mission-critical data center solutions
- Ensures solutions meet requirements for availability, resilience, latency, and scalability
- Integrates infrastructure, applications, OT systems, and monitoring tools into a unified mission control environment
- Collaborates with client, customer, consulting engineers and vendor to ensure seamless interoperability
- Oversees integration of vendors platforms and provide guidance in developing FTI mission critical solutions
- Works closely with business leaders, operations teams, and engineers to translate operational needs into technical solutions
- Leads design reviews, and architecture discussions to create a client functional design specification
- Provides technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle
- Embed monitoring, alerting, and incident response capabilities into solutions
- Supports implementation teams during deployment, testing, and go-live phases
- Validates that delivered solutions align with approved architecture designs
- Troubleshoots complex system and integration issues
- Evaluates emerging technologies relevant to mission control and data center operations
- Recommends improvements to performance, automation, observability, and cost efficiency
- Contributes to long-term technology roadmaps
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, networking, and distributed systems
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Systems integration across both BMS, EPMS and knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- High-availability and resilience design
- Analytical thinking and problem solving
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Reliable, scalable mission control solutions that meet operational demands
- Strong alignment between business goals and technical architecture
- Work strongly with the FTI teamwork and culture
