Our engineers are the foundation of success for our customers and our business. We are seeking a Senior Network Deployment Engineer to join our PacSound regional team. In this role you will consult, design and implement advanced network solutions for a wide range of customer environments. This role requires a strong technical foundation, a consultative mindset, and the ability to translate business requirements into secure, scalable and high-performing network architectures.
 
What You'll Do
 
As a Senior Network Deployment Engineer, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor and hands-on expert across the full lifecycle of customer network engagements. This role will perform the following responsibilities:
  • Consult with customers to understand business goals, technical requirements, constraints, and future-state objectives
  • Design and implement advanced network solutions across a wide variety of customer profiles and environments
  • Deliver best-practice network designs and implementations producing reliable, available, and scalable network solutions
  • Lead technical discovery sessions, assessments, whiteboarding exercises and solution reviews
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and remediation for complex network issues
  • Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including diagrams, implementation guides and as-built documentation
  • Provide post-implementation support, knowledge transfer and recommendations for ongoing improvement
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices, standards and repeatable delivery methods
  • Anticipate IT industry trends and future directions, understand client business objectives, and incorporate this information into proposed architectural solutions to fit future needs and initiatives
  • Maintain and increase technical certifications based upon certification requirement changes and business market requirements
Who you are
 
You are a technically strong, customer-focused engineer who brings depth of knowledge and professionalism to every engagement. You know how to solve complex problems, communicate clearly, and build confidence with customers and internal teams alike. Key attributes for this role include:
  • 7+ years designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise LAN/WAN networks
  • Thought leader in your work engaged with industry trends, best practices, and a passion for what you do
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of networking solutions including LAN, WAN, switching (L2 & L3), routing (BGP, OSPF & EIGRP), data center, wireless, firewalling, VPN, QoS, & MPLS
  • Proficient in manufacturer solutions from companies like Arista, Fortinet, HPE (Aruba, Juniper), and Palo Alto Networks
  • Experience in creating and defining new network architectures and explaining complex issues/situations
  • Ability to explore new ideas and make innovative contributions to existing network processes or solutions
  • Experience designing, architecting, planning and implementing routing, switching and data center solutions and strategies.
  • Advanced network security design with extensive troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Excellent documentation, presentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and client-facing skills
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will also have the following preferred knowledge and experience:
  • CCIE or equivalent experience and knowledge
  • Fortinet FCSS certification in one or many areas of focus, or equivalent experience and knowledge with Fortinet solutions
  • Arista ACE L7 Expert or equivalent experience and knowledge with Arista solutions
  • Palo Alto Networks PCNSE certification.
  • Experience gathering customer requirements, white boarding/presenting solutions, and preparing project Statements of Work (SOWs)
  • 10+ years of networking experience, including configuring, analyzing & troubleshooting complex networks
  • Demonstrated knowledge of security best practices in networking.
  • Consulting, professional services, or value-added reseller (VAR) experience is highly desirable
