Senior Specialist (Dev), AI Operations

Why We Have This Role

The AI Operations team is essential to building and maintaining the next generation of intelligent tools and systems that power Qualtrics’ Customer Operations. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing AI-driven solutions to improve workflows, automate complex processes, and enhance data accessibility. The AI Developer works closely with Customer Ops leadership and analysts to translate business objectives into functional applications and autonomous agentic systems. By leveraging Python and modern AI-native development workflows, this role creates efficient and scalable solutions that redefine how work is performed. The developer also collaborates with cross-organizational teams, including Engineering, Legal, and Security, to ensure system integrity and seamless integration.

How You’ll Find Success

  • Possess strong problem-solving and coding skills with a passion for building robust, AI-first solutions.
  • Take initiative to identify areas for improvement and is perpetually unsatisfied with the status quo, proactively proposing innovative AI solutions.
  • Comfortable with "vibe coding"—orchestrating high-level intent while utilizing AI coding assistants like Cursor or Windsurf to maintain high development velocity.
  • Collaborate effectively with Customer Ops, UX, Product, and Engineering to gather requirements and provide technical AI expertise.
  • Excellent writer who communicates technical AI concepts and progress in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

How You’ll Grow

  • Develop deep knowledge of internal systems, becoming an expert in integrating AI agents into established architectures.
  • Gain hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying complex AI applications and agents that directly impact global operations.
  • Learn how to effectively translate abstract business requirements into high-quality technical specifications and closed-loop model fixes.
  • Work on an agile team where they own AI projects from conception to completion, learning from experienced peers while driving significant impact.

Things You’ll Do

  • Develop, test, and deploy AI applications and tools using Python and relevant LLM frameworks to support Customer Ops needs.
  • Partner with analysts to "close the loop" on model performance, identifying failure modes and implementing fixes to enhance system reliability.
  • Collaborate with leadership to translate business goals into technical requirements for AI agents and automation.
  • Partner with Engineering and Data Engineering to ensure seamless integration between AI tools and core systems while addressing technical discrepancies.
  • Develop automation scripts to streamline processes and conduct A/B testing on implemented AI features to ensure they meet performance (accuracy, speed) benchmarks.

What We’re Looking For On Your Resume

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree from a top university, specifically in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 1–3 years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record of using Python for automation or AI tasks.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor or Windsurf.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, with a specific ability to translate business objectives into technical specs.
  • A strong ability to take on complex technical problems, identify root causes in LLM outputs, and develop effective solutions.
  • The ability to manage multiple development projects concurrently and adapt to rapidly changing priorities in an AI-first environment.
