We are seeking Data Engineers with extensive SQL and Snowflake experience who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies. You’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of building a modern enterprise data platform that powers over $60 billion in annual transaction volume for over 100 million active payment cards for one of the largest credit card issuers in the world. 

The emphasis for this role is on driving efficiency and problem solving when it comes to the use of Snowflake. We're looking for ways to control cost by observing various workloads within Snowflake and communicating with various users outside the team how to optimize their usage. In other words, SQL experts. 

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6 years as an engineer working with ETL pipelines, data warehousing, and query optimization. 
  • A history of mentoring other engineers and code reviews/ paired programming in SQL.
  • Enterprise-level experience working in Snowflake.
  • Extensive knowledge of AWS serverless environments.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture principles, cache, and event streaming.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Python
  • AWS Glue
  • Big Data tech like Hadoop, Spark, BigQuery
  • Prior experience in the financial services industry or highly regulatory environments

 

 

Among other things, we are looking at your ability to handle joins, aggregations, window functions, and data quality scenarios.



Salary Range: $130,000 - $160,000 annually for candidates in most US markets. A higher range will be considered for NYC and SF Bay areas.
