Job Description:

Drive high-impact deployments at the intersection of data intelligence, AI, and governance, with deep grounding in the regulatory and operational realities of complex, regulated industries. As a Senior Deployment Strategist, you act as a trusted advisor and recognized subject matter expert to enterprise stakeholders, translating complex governance and business challenges into a clear path toward measurable Alation adoption and value.

You bring deep expertise in the data space, including data governance, data catalog, and governed AI concepts, along with broad knowledge of the data ecosystem and the strategic landscape it operates within. You are recognized internally and externally as a go-to authority in your domain, actively shaping how Alation approaches delivery, methodology, and customer outcomes at scale.

Strong industry acumen across target verticals, including Financial Services, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Hospitality and Travel, is essential, with the ability to speak to the governance, compliance, and data quality challenges specific to each.

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose data and AI governance gaps specific to regulated, high-complexity industries and translate them into Alation-backed solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.

  • Serve as a credible, senior advisor on industry-specific governance frameworks, including model risk management, data lineage requirements, and regulatory reporting, as they relate to Alation's platform.

  • Help surface opportunities to expand product usage and consumption as a natural outcome of demonstrated value.

  • Lead discovery sessions to surface business and governance challenges, guiding executive stakeholders through complex, multi-variable problems with clarity and confidence.

  • Run product demonstrations and adoption workshops tailored to enterprise stakeholders.

  • Build a defensible, data-backed value story that connects governance outcomes to measurable business impact, giving customers clarity on the value Alation delivers.

  • Own end-to-end delivery of Alation implementations and services engagements, from kickoff through defined business outcomes.

  • Define KPIs and value measures and help customers articulate how Alation contributes to their governance and strategic goals.

  • Run enablement and adoption activities so governance practices are embedded into customer workflows, helping customers govern their AI initiatives with the same rigor as their data.

  • Contribute to Executive Business Reviews, presenting governance and business outcomes with supporting data to senior and executive audiences.

  • Partner with account teams to identify expansion opportunities emerging from your work.

  • Shape internal delivery methodology, best practices, and frameworks, contributing to how Alation scales its professional services practice across industries.

What You Bring

  • 10 - 12+ years of consulting experience in a lead role with a proven track record of delivering successful projects that achieve measurable business outcomes by effectively addressing complex data management requirements, often within budget and with a focus on urgency.

  • Experience delivering services as part of a software company, understanding the dynamics of product implementation and customer success in the context of driving business results through technology.

  • Extensive data management experience with a focus on how data governance, data quality, master data management, and reference data directly enable business capabilities and contribute to achieving strategic objectives.

  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one target industry, including Financial Services, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Hospitality and Travel, and its governance and regulatory landscape.

  • Advanced understanding of data governance and AI governance concepts, metadata management, and how they map to platform capabilities. Hands-on configuration or build experience is a plus, not a requirement.

  • A track record of influencing methodology, tools, or delivery standards beyond your own engagements, contributing to how the broader team approaches its work.

  • Energized and excited about thriving in a high-growth, startup environment where urgency and impact are valued, particularly in delivering data management solutions that drive business outcomes.

  • Passionately curious and committed to continuous learning, proactively innovating and improving both personally and professionally, staying ahead of industry trends and Alation capabilities to better advise customers on achieving business results through data management.

  • Comfortable and effective working in a non-traditional office environment using virtual teaming and working remotely, demonstrating strong collaboration skills regardless of location to partner effectively with customers.

  • Deeply passionate about ensuring customers achieve maximum value out of their investment, acting as their advocate and partner in translating their data management needs into tangible business success.

  • Travel: approximately 15 to 30% for customer and prospect onsite visits.
