The Basics:

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Strategic Finance, to act as a key finance partner to the Go-To-Market and Product organizations, providing best-in-class financial modeling, analyses and insights to enable data-driven decision-making and deliver against the company’s multi-year financial plan.

You will play a key role in shaping the company’s growth strategies by partnering with business leaders to assess performance, understand business drivers and levers, and model scenarios to accelerate growth and achieve financial targets.

This is a high-impact and high-visibility role, providing the opportunity to influence decision making at Executive Leadership levels. The ideal candidate will have prior experience partnering with Sales, Marketing or Product Development teams and will have extensive financial modeling & analyses experience, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to partner with senior leaders in a fast-paced/high-growth environment.

This is a hybrid position, which will require in person attendance several days each week in one of the following locations: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA.


What you’ll do:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the Sales and R&D organizations to identify and model potential growth initiatives, drive pivotal investment decisions, and provide recommendations to optimize the return on Go-To-Market investments
  • Prepare high-quality business analyses, insights, and modeling on ad hoc projects for the CEO, CFO, CTO and CRO
  • Build and improve management reporting and analyses to provide timely, insightful and actionable information to enable data-driven decision-making
  • Develop an understanding of Tanium’s go-to-market model, including various partner/channel motions, and translate this into operational and financial information to monitor the health of the business
  • Perform in-depth product analysis to distill and synthesize key trends, assess current and future business risk, drive product strategy and communicate key messages to executive leadership
  • Responsible for creating content for Executive audiences as part of Quarterly Business Reviews, Board Presentations and Executive Leadership reviews
  • Drive continuous improvement within financial processes, tools and models, including ongoing enhancements to provide line of sight to risks & opportunities. 
  • Comfortable working in high growth environments and having to operate in ambiguity

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of strategic/corporate finance, investment banking/management consulting, or experience at a high-growth technology company.
  • Prior experience partnering with Sales, Marketing or R&D organizations, preferably in technology/software with subscription/SaaS models
  • Experience working on complex business problems, leading to assessment of options, recommendations, and action plans
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to quickly craft precise and elegant responses.
  • Advanced in PowerPoint and experience with PowerBI or other data visualization tools.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Advanced Excel and experience building sophisticated financial models
  • Experience with Adaptive Planning or similar finance forecasting systems
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance
  • Experience in Investment Banking or Consulting preferred

What you’ll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 to $300,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience. 

In addition to an annual base salary, team members will receive equity awards and a generous benefits package consisting of medical, dental and vision plan, family planning benefits, health savings account, flexible spending account, transportation savings account, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, life, accident and disability coverage, business travel accident insurance, employee assistance programs, disability insurance, and other well-being benefits.
