The Sr. Strategic Operations Manager is a high-impact, cross-functional role responsible for driving operational excellence and shaping strategic initiatives across Mudflap. Acting as a “mini GM” for key areas like Fuel, this person owns end-to-end execution – identifying opportunities, leading projects, and scaling processes that improve customer experience, efficiency, and growth.
This role requires a proactive, hands-on operator who can dive into data, generate insights, and turn ideas into action while collaborating closely across Product, Sales, Support, and Operations.
SQL Expectation: Our Operations roles require advanced level SQL proficiency. Candidates should be comfortable working extensively and hands-on in SQL on a daily basis and should expect to complete a SQL assessment as part of the interview process.
Preference for Bay Area or Austin, Open to Remote
We value in-person connection and have offices in both Palo Alto and Austin. While we prefer candidates located in these hubs for occasional meetings and team collaboration, we are open to remote team members who can travel periodically if needed.
Expectations (In this role, you will):
Strong analytical mindset with hands-on SQL experience, using data manipulation to inform and drive strategic decisions
Leverage data and analyses to develop product-line growth strategies, partnering with internal teams, to strengthen offering, optimize sales funnel, and improve customer engagement for fleets and drivers
Identify, own, and publish operational OKRs and KPIs, which will drive positive engagement and usage across Mudflap
Track, monitor, and improve operational metrics and performance of products, features, operational teams, and systems
Lead cross-functional teams to scale operations, optimize organizational structures, and improve operational workflows and processes
Develop and lead GTM program for new product lines or initiatives, including managing external vendor relationships, evaluating business applications, and developing processes for onboarding and support
Partner with internal teams, to optimize company functions, strengthen network and improve experience for drivers and merchants
Present recommendations and results to management and key decision-makers
Experience (What we look for):
4+ years of experience in sales revenue and tech operations, project manager, and/or Business Analytic roles
Advanced level SQL proficiency and Excel/Sheets
Analytical skills: you can develop actionable insights from complex data. You have experience with data analysis, data manipulation, and data visualization tools.
CRM Expertise: You are proficient in designing and implementing processes and workflows in CRM applications, including guiding tech teams and vendors on integrations to meet business objectives
Process Champion: you have experience implementing end-to-end workflows and processes from scratch for new, future products and existing operations
Operations-minded: you find a way to get the function done and prioritizes streamlining and improving processes
Collaboration: you are a strong cross-functional leader, effective at managing multiple internal and external teams towards business goals
Communication skills: you can communicate complicated insights and arguments both verbally and in writing

The base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000. This information reflects a base salary range for this position based on current market data, which may be subject to change as new market data becomes available. The candidate's skills, experience, and other relevant factors will determine the exact compensation. This position may also be eligible for additional incentives such as equity awards or short-term incentives. Our benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, WFH stipend, and PTO.
