Job Description

We’re building a world class, global, qualitative research and creative strategy team within NIQ. NIQ has access to the world’s greatest clients in FMCG, Tech and Consumer Durables, and we’re backed by the innovation quant expertise of BASES and the strategic quant capabilities of GFK. We have more than 100 qualitative researchers across Asia, but so far, a significant gap in the USA. This is a fabulous opportunity to be part of that team and help build an exciting new consultancy business within the NIQ ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with our sales teams and clients, identifying opportunities to build high-impact brand strategy and innovation projects, incorporating leading-edge qualitative approaches alongside our colleagues' quantitative tools.

  • Get out to our clients and help build relationships, building the relationships that will drive growth for qualitative research and creative strategy at NIQ.

  • Design, moderate and oversee the delivery of high-impact projects that build great relationships with our clients. This will include hands on running of qualitative research, across various methodologies.

  • We’ve got a portfolio of tools to build, in relation to segmentation, innovation, design and communications. If you can lead the thinking on one or more of these areas, that would be great.

A Little About You

You’re always looking for opportunities with your clients, always supporting the team around you to stretch their capabilities. You’ll have a profound interest in brands, innovation, design and communications, and a track record of supporting clients with relevant insight.

You might well have experience working in design or innovation consultancies, and if you’ve had experience working client-side, and synthesising qual and quant data, that would be helpful too.

You are an experienced qualitative moderator who navigates unexpected client shifts with confidence and composure. You have a proven track record across a wide range of live and asynchronous methodologies and are motivated to continue refining and expanding your craft.

You have qualitative experience in the health care / pharmaceutical industries, as well as in the consumer-packaged goods space more generally, and are comfortable speaking the languages of these industries to consult effectively with our all of our clients.

Can you effectively tell a story that captures the audience, no matter what level, and brings them along your journey? Are you able to work collaboratively, as part of a team within a dynamic and challenging environment while maintaining high standards? Do you have experience in working with complex client relationships and client issue resolution?

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
