Position Purpose:

Leads observability projects that are focused on managing and maintaining optimum APM platform infrastructure performance, reliability, and security using SRE practices.

  • Evaluate and consult on APM tool features & functionality.
  • Understands and advocates for monitoring & observability standardization, governance and scalability.
  • Automate monitoring onboarding, reporting, and auditing to reduce manual toil and achieve optional performance of the APM tools.
  • Assists infrastructure & application teams with observability to ensure the health of their systems, improve performance, and provide availability to our customers.
  • Coaches, reviews and delegates work to junior professionals.
  • Troubleshoots and analyzes service disruptions to determine the root cause of issues and develop solutions for improved reliability. ​
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Education/Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science) and Requires 4 – 6 years of related experience.
Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.
Technical Skills:

  • Dynatrace SaaS, Splunk, Splunk ITSI
  • Understanding of Dynatrace Cloud integration – AWS & Azure
  • Creating Dynatrace dashboards
  • Onboarding new applications into Dynatrace using management zones, hosts groups, applications, synthetics
  • Understanding of Dynatrace extensions
  • Scripting using python or other scripting tools
  • Automation experience using ansible
  • Experience with Linux Operating System; Operating Systems; Unix Operating System; Windows Operating System
  • Experience with working in public cloud platforms like AWS and Azure
  • Experience with building and operating highly scaled applications
  • Experience with MongoDB; MySQL; Oracle Database Management System (DBMS); PL SQL; SQL (Programming Language)
  • Experience with varying code repositories, auto deployments, branching with tools such as Gitlab, Bitbucket, Subversion
  • Experience with IT service management tools such as Service Now, Atlassian, BMC


Soft Skills:

  • Intermediate - Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty
  • Intermediate - Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Pay Range: $85,300.00 - $158,100.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
