Why We Need You:

 

PEMCO has a dynamic and challenging opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our community.  In this role, you are responsible for delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security.

  

What You’ll Be Doing:

 

  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.

  • Manage small projects with reporting on project progress on a weekly basis. Mentor others at different levels.

  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.

  • Participate in the design of information and operations support systems.

  • Perform root cause analysis for production errors, liaise with vendors, other IT personnel and business users for problem resolution.

  • Lead or participate in efforts to create standards to be followed. Roadmap development of supported application stacks to meet stated or unstated company requirements.

  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.

  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users

  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.

  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies, provide 2nd and 3rd level support.

  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with PEMCO's policies, values, code of ethics and business conduct.

What You'll Bring:

 

  • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience (Computer science, Engineering or equivalent) is required

  • 6 years of experience in supporting Microsoft technology stack, installing, configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows based environments is required

  • 5 years’ experience with server monitoring and alerting platforms, specifically troubleshooting capabilities

  • Knowledge of fundamental IT concepts, practices and procedures with broad knowledge of technology and solutions

  • Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management, best practices is required

  • Relevant industry certifications is required

  • ITIL and or other information technology certifications

  • MS Office: Skilled proficiency in MS Visio is required

  • MS Office: Skilled proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access is required

  • Job specific: Skilled proficiency in PeopleSoft HCM Suite in Core HR, Self Service, NA Payroll, Time and Labor is required

  • Job specific: Advanced proficiency of the underlying table structures and where PeopleSoft data reside and through understanding of PeopleSoft Application Architecture is required

  • Job specific: Advanced proficiency of PeopleSoft programming skills using various PeopleSoft tools such as People Tools, People Code, Application Package, Application Engine, Integration Broker, SQR, Crystal Report, Bi Publisher (XML Publisher), nVision, Approval Workflow Engine(AWE) Configuration experience, Hyperion and OBIEE is required

Compensation:


The pay range for this role is shown below. Compensation decisions are determined based on an individual’s qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

 

  • Greater Seattle area target pay range: $127,971-$156,409. The full pay range is $106,643-$177,738.
  • Outside greater Seattle area target pay range: $112,937-$138,035.  The full pay range is $94,115-$156,857.

 

Greater Seattle Area is defined as working within approximately 100 miles of Seattle.

 

Outside Greater Seattle is defined as working approximately 100 miles or more from Seattle.

 

Benefits:


Regular part-time PEMCO employees working at least 24 hours per week and regular full-time PEMCO employees are eligible to elect coverage under medical, dental, and vision plans for themselves and their eligible family members with generous employer premium cost shares. In addition, as a benefits-eligible employee, you are:

 

  • covered by employer-paid basic life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance policies as well as long- and short-term disability benefit coverages.
  • eligible to participate in PEMCO’s 401(k) plan, which includes a generous employer match (2 for 1 on the first 6% employee pre-tax and/or Roth deferral, up to federal maximums).
     

PEMCO provides the following paid leave programs for benefits-eligible employees in their first year of PEMCO employment:

 

  • Vacation accrues at a rate of 10 days for new hires, and increases based on a schedule to a maximum annual accrual of 25 days based on tenure
  • Granted four (4) personal days immediately upon hire
  • Paid holidays for the eight (8) holidays observed by PEMCO throughout the calendar year.
  • Granted up to ten (10) days of sick leave immediately upon hire (pro-rated based on hire date and full-time/part-time status), which is approximately 28 hours more per year than the Washington state-required accrual
  • In addition, PEMCO provides paid time off for bereavement, jury duty, and employee volunteering in the community.

Other compensation, depending on role, contributions, and performance, may include:
