About ClassDojo

ClassDojo's goal is to give every child on Earth an education they love.

We started by building a communication network that connects teachers, children, and families. Today, ClassDojo is used in the vast majority of U.S. schools and reaches tens of millions of children and families globally. We’re now expanding beyond communication into building the best possible learning experiences for kids everywhere.

We’re a small, high-talent-density team with experience from leading technology companies. We value ownership, speed, and thoughtful decision-making, and we aim to create an environment where people can do the best work of their careers.

The Role

We’re hiring a Technical Product Manager for our Platform Team to help shape and scale the foundational systems that power all ClassDojo products.

As we expand into domain-specific platform areas (e.g., Accounts, Payments), this role will define product direction, drive prioritization, and ensure that platform investments are clearly connected to user experience and business impact.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Data, and Product teams to turn complex, ambiguous infrastructure challenges into clear, valuable product outcomes.

What You’ll Do

Define and drive platform product strategy

  • Own the roadmap for key platform domains (e.g., Accounts or Payments), driving initiatives such as “Sign in with Dojo”

  • Translate ambiguous technical challenges into clear product opportunities with defined outcomes and success metrics

  • Ensure platform work is grounded in real user and business value

Deliver high-impact platform capabilities

  • Break down complex systems into incremental, shippable improvements that deliver value early and often

  • Partner closely with engineering to drive execution from concept through launch and adoption

  • Balance tradeoffs across technical complexity, product value, and cost

Establish strong platform product practices

  • Define how platform teams gather requirements, prioritize work, and align with stakeholders

  • Introduce structured, data-informed decision-making into platform roadmaps

  • Help reduce reactive work by creating clarity and alignment across teams

Partner cross-functionally

  • Work closely with Data Platform to deliver high-impact data capabilities

  • Collaborate with product teams to ensure platform capabilities meet real needs and are widely adopted

  • Act as a bridge between technical systems and end-user experience

You Will Be a Match If You …

  • Have 6+ years of experience as a technical PM (or equivalent between software engineer and technical PM roles)

  • Have significant experience working on platform or infrastructure products used by multiple teams

  • Have operated in high-growth or scaling environments with increasing system complexity

  • Demonstrate strong ownership and a bias for action, driving initiatives from problem definition through delivery

  • Can translate technical systems into clear product direction and user/business value

  • Are comfortable working in ambiguity and turning unclear problems into structured plans

  • Have experience working with sensitive or regulated data (e.g., identity/auth, financial, or student data)

  • Are an excellent communicator, especially in writing, and can explain complex ideas clearly

Nice to Have

  • Experience with identity, authentication, payments, or data platforms

  • Background spanning both technical systems and user-facing products

  • Experience building consumer-facing or product-led platforms

CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT states: $160,000 - $215,000 (USD)
