Own technical go-to-market for AI-native cloud products and market segments. Translate complex capabilities into narratives, build demos and code, create technical content, run launches, enable sales, monitor market/competitive signals, and engage developer communities to drive adoption, pipeline, and wins.

Dive in and do the best work of your career at DigitalOcean. Journey alongside a strong community of top talent who are relentless in their drive to build the simplest scalable cloud. If you have a growth mindset, naturally like to think big and bold, and are energized by the fast-paced environment of a true industry disruptor, you’ll find your place here.  We value winning together—while learning, having fun, and making a profound difference for the dreamers and builders in the world.

DigitalOcean is building the cloud for AI builders, and our Technical Product Evangelism team tells that story to the technical audiences who matter most: the conference talks, the social content, the hands-on workshops, and the campaigns that make DigitalOcean's technical story land with the AI-native companies choosing their infrastructure.

This role sits between product marketing and developer advocacy, and it's distinct from both. Where PMM owns positioning, launch coordination, and go-to-market strategy, and Developer Advocates create content driven by their own practitioner curiosity, Technical Product Evangelists are hands-on technical content creators in service of the company's narrative. You'll take our most important stories and turn them into technical content that stands up in front of a sophisticated audience, whether that's a deck you build for a VP's keynote, a talk you deliver yourself, or a social media post that lands the technical value of a product feature.

What you'll do
  • Create speaker content for DigitalOcean's technical leaders — and deliver some of it yourself. Own the decks, narratives, and preparation that let our executives and senior leaders show up credibly at third-party conferences and industry events, and take the stage yourself when you're the right voice for the story. You'll partner directly with executives, translate their ideas into compelling technical stories, and manage the content from CFP to stage.
  • Create our deepest technical content on X. Partner with our Social team, which runs the channel and calendar, to produce the technical content behind product launches and industry moments — the videos, demos, threads, and posts that require someone who actually understands the technology and can produce content with the speed, accuracy, and voice a technical audience expects.
  • Build and run brand-aligned technical campaigns. Hands-on labs, workshop materials, and in-person programming for enterprise AI-native accounts, starting with our agentic coding initiatives in Seattle.
  • Be our presence in Seattle. Attend and participate in the Seattle technical community: meetups, conferences, hackathons, and the events where AI companies evaluate their infrastructure options.
What we're looking for
  • 5+ years in technical marketing, product marketing, solutions engineering, developer relations, or technical content, with work that has been consumed by technically sophisticated audiences
  • Enough technical depth to be credible with AI engineers and infrastructure teams — and enough hands-on ability to back it up. You can build a working demo, record a walkthrough of a product you just picked up, explain inference economics, and speak concretely about how products compare to their competition
  • Fluency with AI-assisted creation. You use AI coding and content tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) to move from idea to polished demo, video, or campaign asset fast — and you have the taste and judgment to ship work that never feels AI-generated
  • Exceptional presentation skills, both in development and delivery: a portfolio of talks, decks, or campaigns you've built (for yourself or for others) and the stage presence to deliver them
  • Experience working directly with executives or senior leaders on content, and the judgment to serve someone else's voice as skillfully as your own
  • Comfort taking a brief and executing against it: this role serves the company's narrative priorities, and you find craft satisfaction in making assigned stories excellent
  • Based in Seattle or willing to relocate; regular in-person presence at events is core to the role
Nice to have
  • Experience at an AI infrastructure, developer tools, or cloud company
  • An existing presence or network in the Seattle AI/developer community
  • Experience producing workshop or hands-on lab content
  • An active technical presence on X, with an engaged audience of AI practitioners
Compensation Range:
  • $167,200-209,000

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
