Redfin is looking for a passionate leader to drive security, compliance, and reliability programs across our engineering organization. As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will own projects that impact all of engineering, including security initiatives, infrastructure reliability, and compliance programs.

About the Role

  •  Own quarterly planning, roadmap development, and program execution across infrastructure engineering, translating priorities into milestones, dependencies, and measurable outcomes.

  • Partner with Compute, Database, Streaming, Networking, and Cloud Governance teams to identify risks, remove blockers, and drive cross-team execution.

  • Partner with the security team to define and roll out security, risk, and compliance programs across the company.

  • Establish clear visibility into commitments, progress, risks, and tradeoffs; report up to engineering and senior leadership, and turn infrastructure requirements into clear asks for feature teams.

  • Improve the operating mechanisms and cross-functional coordination needed to deliver complex infrastructure and security initiatives, driving alignment across teams outside of infrastructure.

About You

  • 7+ years of technical program management, engineering program management, or comparable experience leading complex technical programs.

  • Experience driving large-scale infrastructure, cloud, platform, or security initiatives across multiple engineering teams.

  • Strong technical fluency in modern infrastructure concepts, with the ability to engage deeply with engineers, understand dependencies, and challenge technical plans.

  • Demonstrated ability to build roadmaps, manage competing priorities and dependencies, and drive execution in ambiguous or rapidly changing environments.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating risks, tradeoffs, and program status to senior leadership.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with AWS or other large-scale public cloud environments and technologies such as databases, Kubernetes/compute platforms, networking, streaming, or cloud governance.

  • Experience managing cybersecurity, information security, risk, audit, or regulatory compliance programs.

  • Experience working in regulated environments or with systems handling sensitive consumer, financial, or business data.

  • Experience supporting large-scale technology integrations, acquisitions, or organizational transformations.

  • Technical background in infrastructure engineering, software engineering, systems engineering, or security engineering.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
