Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for a highly motivated, self-starter, to join our Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Integration Support Contract (ISC) team supporting the following Minuteman III Missile Field Battlespace Awareness (MFBSA) programs: Remote Visual Assessment (RVA) and WaveRelay Tactical Assault Kit (WaRTAK). The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior support engineer, directly responsible to the MFBSA Lead Program Manager, for technical performance of program requirements. This individual will conduct technical documentation and report reviews, ensure design complies with cybersecurity practices and architecture, and contribute day-to-day execution of programs efforts to ensure Time Certain Delivery of capabilities. As a Senior Test Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the government lead engineer in leading the testing efforts for complex software and hardware systems, ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. You will be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and maintenance. You will work closely with government engineers, managers, and other stakeholders to define test strategies, create test plans, develop and execute test cases, and analyze test results. The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solver with a passion for quality and a proven track record of delivering high-quality products.
Duties of the position can include (but are not limited to):
  • Work with an acquisition team to write specifications, review engineering drawings and technical documents, and manage work to meet program schedules and requirements.
  • Apply engineering principles and analytical methods and techniques to identify or evaluate proposed modifications and/or replacements for system components.
  • Identify and annotate analytical or technical findings, and be prepared to defend technical recommendations concerning any needed modifications and/or replacements.
  • Interpret Computer Aided Design (CAD) models and drawings.
  • Be familiar with the comprehensive design process including conceptual development, physical design, support to procurement, engineering test, root-cause analysis, and integration and support of product qualification
  • Review and analyze test plans, test cases, and test results created by the contractor to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to established standards and requirements.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the contractor on test plans, test cases, and testing methodologies.
  • Validate the contractor's test environment setup and configuration
  • Conduct regression testing to ensure the contractor's changes do not introduce new defects or regressions in existing functionality
  • Ensure the contractor's work meets the defined quality standards and acceptance criteria
  • Monitor the contractor's progress and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Identify and escalate any quality risks or concerns to the government Program Manager
  • Communicate effectively with the contractor, development team, and other stakeholders regarding testing status and issues.
  • Document all review findings, test results, and recommendations
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate between contractor and stakeholders; and be able to comfortably brief to an audience, including senior leaders.
  • Apply DoD Acquisitions, MMIII and program-specific processes to assist the government and the contractor successfully enter/exit through systems engineering gates.
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a secret clearance. This position is located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in testing, with a focus on quality assurance and test strategy
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies, principles, and best practices
  • Proven ability to review and evaluate test plans, test cases, and test results
  • Experience working with and managing external contractors or vendors
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively
  • Knowledge in information technology, network, RMF and cybersecurity
  • Possess good written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Strong background in systems engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on quality assurance and test strategy
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, principles, and best practices
  • Experience/knowledge with ICBM weapons systems
  • Understanding and experience in DoD acquisitions systems engineering processes, gates, and reviews
  • Knowledge of Air Force engineering systems
  • Ability to analyze supportability of the design
  • Experience in Risk Management
  • Experience in Configuration Management
  • Experience in Logistical Analysis
  • Active DoD clearance - Secret or above

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $86460 - $146982
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
