About The Role

Design, develop, and deploy advanced computer vision and AI systems that transform how nuclear power plants are built and monitored. You'll create real-time visual analytics systems that automate construction progress tracking by comparing site imagery to BIM models, detect defects and anomalies from drone and camera feeds, and monitor safety compliance across construction sites. This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge computer vision technology and nuclear infrastructure, requiring expertise in machine learning, image processing, camera systems integration, and real-time video analytics to build intelligent inspection and monitoring systems for Nuclear OS.

Responsibilities

Computer Vision Development

  • Develop AI-powered systems for automated construction progress monitoring by comparing site images to BIM models
  • Create algorithms for anomaly detection, defect identification, and automated image analysis from drone and camera feeds
  • Build CNN-based detection systems for automated identification and classification
  • Design pipelines to process video streams from multiple cameras simultaneously

Camera Systems & Integration

  • Integrate fixed surveillance, PTZ, thermal/infrared, and drone cameras
  • Connect AI-enabled cameras into IoT sensor networks for real-time data collection
  • Implement vehicle and individual tracking across facility camera networks

Safety & Compliance Monitoring

  • Develop vision systems for PPE detection, restricted area monitoring, and hazard identification
  • Build worker tracking systems for safety monitoring and emergency response
  • Automate visual inspection for construction safety and environmental compliance

Robotic Vision

  • Develop computer vision systems for robotic perception and autonomous navigation
  • Integrate vision systems with robotic inspection and quality control platforms

Machine Learning & AI

  • Train and optimize deep learning models for detection, segmentation, classification, and tracking
  • Implement transfer learning and fine-tuning for nuclear construction applications
  • Develop custom neural network architectures optimized for real-time edge device performance

Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years in computer vision, machine learning, or AI development
  • 3+ years in senior/lead developer role

Technical Skills

  • Expert in computer vision libraries (OpenCV, scikit-image, PIL/Pillow)
  • Strong knowledge of deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras)
  • Experience with CNNs, vision transformers, and modern architectures (ResNet, YOLO, Mask R-CNN, ViT)
  • Strong programming in Python, C++, or similar languages
  • Real-time video processing and streaming analytics
  • GPU programming and optimization (CUDA, TensorRT)
  • Camera systems including calibration, lens selection, and lighting
  • Image processing: filtering, enhancement, feature extraction
  • 3D vision: stereo vision, depth estimation, point cloud processing
  • Version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Experience

  • Ph.D. in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or related field
  • Publications in CV/ML conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS)
  • Open-source computer vision contributions
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, or industrial automation
  • BIM (Building Information Modeling) knowledge
  • Multi-camera calibration and synchronization
  • Drone-based imaging and aerial data processing
  • Edge AI hardware experience (NVIDIA Jetson, Intel Movidius, Google Coral)
  • Nuclear industry standards and safety requirements

Estimated Starting Salary Range
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $121,000 - $143,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
