SUMMARY: 

Groundfloor is seeking  a Senior Visual Designer to champion high-quality, user-centered design initiatives. As a Senior Visual Designer at Groundfloor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our cutting-edge investment platform. This platform uniquely enables everyday investors both non-accredited and accredited to participate directly in short-term, high-yield real estate investments. You will lead the charge in creating intuitive, consumer-grade designs that empower users to build and manage portfolios effortlessly. 

This role works in close collaboration with the Product team, strengthening visual design for user workflows, identifying pain points, and helping to execute designs across Groundfloor’s product lines.

THIS JOB MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF:

  • Flying at different altitudes: The ability to deliver both wireframes and high-quality, polished designs using Figma
  • Design and Aesthetic Insight: A keen eye for design, you live in the pixels with a deep appreciation for modern aesthetics, coupled with a practical understanding of how exceptional UX/UI drives business success in the fintech domain
  • Designing with Systems: You are a pro with Figma, and understand how to use and build design systems that can be agile but also scale over time. 
  • Curiosity and Problem-Solving: You demonstrate a strong curiosity and mindset to find novel ways to discover and solve customer problems.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand and contribute to an established product vision and strategy, balancing short-term goals with long-term objectives

A DAY IN THE LIFE: 

  • Be part of a high performance design culture by achieving a high quality bar 
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, product, and business teams to define problems; goals, research requirements, map user flows, prototype, and launch new products
  • Manage the execution of design projects and the development of the design team
  • Proactively offer recommendations and solutions by championing high quality design standards grounded in research and analysis
  • Create deliverables at various levels of fidelity from sketches to wireframes to final designs
  • Communicate progress and key updates with other team members on a regular basis
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of Groundfloor’s existing products and our users
  • Supporting early product definition by working closely with stakeholders and customers to participate in discovery sessions that uncover customer pain points and opportunities.
  • Work with product managers to understand customer needs and define opportunities through usability testing
Requirements

YOUR EXPERIENCE + A FEW NICE TO HAVES:

  • 3-5 years of product and visual design experience 
  • Professional experience with financial tools, investment platforms, and/or real estate products preferred but not required
  • Success in raising the design bar on consumer-facing products, emphasizing a customer first approach
  • High degree of financial literacy, comfortable with basic concepts related to building and managing a personal portfolio of investments in public and private market securities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
