As a Senior Visual Designer for an undisclosed R&D title, reporting to the Director of Marketing Creative Direction, you will help introduce a brand new game to players for the very first time. This is a rare opportunity to be an early pioneer - shaping how this game shows up in the world, how players first experience it, and how the brand and live service evolve over time.
You will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing visual assets and deliverables that support a wide variety of brand moments across all player touch points including branding, social media, key art, game trailers, and live events. At a craft level you will lead and support the Game Publishing team, to which you are assigned, collaborating with individual contributors from other cross-disciplines to align on project goals, advocate for craft excellence and present creative solutions to briefs while ensuring brand and creative consistency via brand guidelines globally.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform expert, hands-on Visual Design duties while simultaneously driving the art direction (high level artistic vision, artist management) of branding and marketing work.
  • Drive and maintain the holistic visual identity for the publishing campaigns, moments, seasons and ensure that internal and external partners consistently adhere to brand guidelines and established visual identity
  • Lead and manage relationships with external art vendors, design studios, and creative agencies
  • Determine art resources, skills and timing needed to achieve positive campaign outcomes
  • Review and deliver clear visual feedback that elevates artists and vendors in order to maintain high quality and consistency throughout multiple campaigns deliverables
  • With the alignment from the Creative Director, establish the marketing art style, tone, and craft tactics for multiple features of various campaigns while responding to strategic needs
  • Collaborate efficiently and effectively with a multi-disciplinary team providing creative input and feedback: Motion Graphic, illustration, Creative Direction, Gameplay Capture, and Animation
Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience as a visual designer and/or art director in games, entertainment, tech, or advertising.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Miro, and presentation tools
  • Proven record of outstanding craft skills in branding, typography, visual design systems, motion graphics and brand guidelines
  • Expert knowledge of illustration, animation, and general creative development process for art
  • Experience and curiosity around creative ideation beyond executional visual design
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, providing rationale and strategy to back creative decision making.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of 3d art pipelines (posing, lighting compositing, etc)
  • Experience owning projects end-to-end
  • Video Editorial and gameplay capture for game trailers and social media
  • Able to perform at several altitudes, going from high level direction to hands-on individual contributor craft work
  • Experience or passion for the games industry, entertainment, or youth-culture-driven brands

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players. We will be looking at your past studies, experience, and your personal relationship with games. If you embody player empathy and care about players' experiences, this could be your role!

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
