Role and Responsibilities

The SVP of Product will report to and work directly with Chris Severn, Co-Founder & CEO. In this role you will:

  • Guide through scoping decisions, keeping in mind both internal and external stakeholders, to determine the product roadmap and developmental priorities, and ensuring continued revenue growth with innovative product offerings.
  • Establish, execute and achieve the company’s product vision and scaling milestones in strategic alignment with business objectives, client experience, and revenue goals.
  • Act as a thought leader and strategic innovator focused on enhancing and expanding Turquoise Health’s product offering from analytics to a B2B workflow product for pricing negotiations.
  • Facilitate strong product management processes, and best practices, ensuring the consistent delivery pace of products and features that delight users.
  • Build, retain, and mentor a world-class product and design team consisting of diverse, yet complementary, skill-sets while aligning functions around core goals and KPIs.
Professional Qualifications - Healthcare Subject Matter Expertise Required
  • 7+ years of experience in the healthcare domain, including direct experience in building for back-office healthcare (contract negotiations, pre-auth, claims processing and pricing, estimates, billing).
  • 5+ years of experience in product management or a related role, including product lifecycle management, and a successful track record of developing and launching products.
  • 5+ years of proven leadership experience leading, managing, developing, and scaling high-performing product management teams.
  • Expertise in setting a vision and strategy based on customer, market, and operational data.
  • Ability to think through the product end-to-end, from first touch to conversion to continued engagement and beyond. Owning the entire customer/user experience.
  • Capable of prioritizing competing opportunities, balancing market needs with business goals, driving detailed trade-offs over the product life cycle, managing conflict, and articulating the rationale behind product decisions.
  • Ability to facilitate communication and engagement around product cross-functionally to ensure flawless execution and prevent organizational silos.
Personal Characteristics
  • Low ego
    • You take the mission and the task-at-hand seriously, not yourself.
    • Your humility allows you to build trust and relationships internally.
  • Mission-driven internal compass
    • Your past career decisions are distinctly mission-driven. Your career has a double bottom line of growth and doing good.
  • Organized urgency
    • You don’t have time for monolithic development efforts.
    • You move fast by making a list and checking it twice.
  • Technical product skills
    • Left brain / right brain: you’re just as comfortable managing data products as you are managing delicate front-end user experiences.
    • You have a roster of engineers who will vouch for your technical expertise as an IC PM in the past.
  • Executive presence
    • When you speak, people listen. You win people to your ideas by building a narrative and instilling trust.
About Turquoise Health

At Turquoise, we're making healthcare pricing simpler, more transparent, and lower cost for everyone. Have you or a family member ever gotten an MRI, a lab, or even a straightforward surgery without knowing the cost in advance? That's bonkers, right? We're working to fix that.
We're a Series B startup backed by top VCs a16z, Box Group, Bessemer Venture Partners, Tiger Global, Adams Street, and Yosemite. Most importantly, we're an accomplished group of folks (moonlighting as authors, bass players, improv instructors, chefs, linguists, and trivia buffs) with a passion for improving healthcare. We're eager to find ambitious and well-rounded teammates to join us on this mission.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
