The Role

You'll own a portfolio client accounts - some directly, most through a team of SEO managers and specialists you lead. Your job is to make sure every account has a sharp strategy and is trending toward its goals, to develop your team into stronger strategists and client leaders, and to help grow JDM's SEO practice through pitches, audits, and thought leadership.

This is a senior leadership role where client outcomes, team development, and business growth all sit on your desk. If you've been the person clients trust in the room and the person your team credits for their growth, this role is built for you.

About Us

Jordan Digital Marketing is a remote-first, remote-always digital marketing agency (we were remote before it was cool). We specialize in paid media, SEO, and content marketing for startups and high-growth companies across B2B and B2C. Our mission is simple: deliver best-in-class performance and act as a true extension of our clients' in-house teams.

What You'll Own

Account & portfolio ownership
  • Own the results of your directly managed accounts and every account on your team

  • Deploy advanced SEO strategies across the portfolio - video SEO, structured data optimization, off-page partnership development, and content marketing strategy

  • Set strategic direction and prioritization across the portfolio, adjusting as client goals and the search landscape shift

The standard: Every account has a clear strategy, is trending toward its goals, and no account's health comes as a surprise - to the client or to JDM leadership.

Client relationships & retention
  • Maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients on directly managed and team accounts

  • Serve as the senior escalation point when accounts hit turbulence, resolving issues before they threaten the relationship

  • Connect SEO performance to the business outcomes each client actually cares about

The standard: Clients see JDM as an extension of their team, renewals are earned well before the contract date, and at-risk accounts are identified and addressed early.

Team leadership & development
  • Lead, coach, and retain a team of SEO professionals

  • Develop team members toward stronger strategic thinking and client management, not just task execution

  • Help hire and build the team as JDM grows

The standard: The team is retained, developing, and delivering at JDM's quality bar without rework — and team members can point to how they've grown under your leadership.

Business growth & practice development
  • Bring credible, compelling SEO perspective to pitches, audits, and onboarding

  • Stay ahead of algorithm changes and industry shifts, and turn new knowledge into repeatable approaches the whole team can use

  • Contribute to JDM's marketing presence and thought leadership

The standard: Your fingerprints are on the growth of the SEO practice itself — new business won, new accounts launched well, sharper strategies across the team, and JDM's reputation strengthened.

What We're Looking For
  • Deep, hands-on SEO expertise - typically 8–10+ years - spanning technical, content, and off-page strategy

  • Several years leading and developing a team, with people who'd say they grew because of you

  • A strong track record owning senior client relationships in digital marketing

  • Clear, concise, timely communication, written and verbal

  • Strong people skills, including active listening with empathy

  • An analytical mindset — the ability to look at account and team data and form a clear point of view on what to do next

  • Based in the US (this role is remote, but we're only hiring within the US)

Bonus points for: content marketing or professional writing experience; a mix of in-house and agency backgrounds; experience with adjacent channels (paid, CRO, organic social, email); prior remote work; and genuine curiosity about where search is headed.

If you don't check every box but know you can do this job, we'd still like to hear from you.

Benefits
  • We’re fully remote (we were remote before it was cool)

  • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance

  • HSA, FSA, and dependent care FSA

  • 401k with company matching

  • Flexible working hours

  • Yearly professional development stipend

  • Flexible PTO

  • Monthly WFH stipend

  • Company-provided laptop

  • Equipment stipend to build out your home office

  • Parental leave - 12 weeks (3 weeks paid, 9 weeks unpaid)

  • 529 College Savings Plan

  • Fun surprises on your birthday and workiversary!

While the job posting shows a specific city, this is a fully remote position.

We really value diversity & inclusion in our hiring and culture. We are proud that our team is majority female and that many ethnicities are represented. We encourage you to apply and share this with candidates from diverse backgrounds.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
