This is not a traditional SEO internship. This role sits at the intersection of search, content, and AI, focused on
optimizing Actian.com for both rankings and answer-based discovery (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity,
etc.).
If you have a curious, builder mindset - someone who likes to test, experiment, and use AI tools to solve real
marketing problems - this is a unique opportunity to work on high-impact initiatives across Actian’s full product
portfolio.
You will gain hands-on experience with modern SEO platforms while also exploring how AI is reshaping search
behavior, content strategy, and digital visibility.
Capstone Overview
Deliver a final project that evaluates Actian’s performance across both organic search and AI-driven discovery,
including:
Baseline vs. improved performance
Visibility in AI-generated answers
Strategic recommendations to improve discoverability across search and AI platforms

Responsibilities:
- Conduct a comprehensive SEO audit of Actian.com across key product areas
- Identify opportunities to improve visibility in both traditional search and AI-driven answer engines (AEO)
- Optimize content for:
- Search engines (keywords, metadata, internal linking)
- AI consumption (clear answers, structured content, entity clarity, FAQs)
- Use tools like GA4, Google Search Console, and SEO platforms to analyze performance
- Evaluate how Actian content appears in AI-generated results and summaries
- Partner with marketing stakeholders to recommend:
- Content improvements
- Structural changes (schema, internal linking, topic clusters)
- Experiment with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to:
- Analyze content gaps
- Generate optimization ideas
- Improve workflow efficiency
- Measure and report on impact across traffic, rankings, and emerging AI visibility signals
Nice to haves:
- Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Computer Science or related field
- Basic understanding of SEO principles
- Interest in AI, LLMs, and how search is evolving
- Familiarity with tools like GA4, GSC, Semrush, Ahrefs, or BrightEdge
- Experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, etc.) for research or content support
- Strong analytical thinking and curiosity
- Ability to move quickly, test ideas, and iterate
- Proficiency with WordPress or basic web management is a plus
Requirements:
- Must be actively enrolled in a college degree program during the 12 weeks
- Must be physically located in the United States.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the Country of Employment
