You, the SEO & GEO Account Manager of our dreams, are a strategic consultant and will spend your days creating digital marketing strategies that tie into clients' overall marketing plans and business goals. At Seer, AI is embedded in how we deliver smarter, faster, and more strategic outcomes and search is evolving beyond traditional rankings into AI Overviews, generative results, and LLM-powered discovery experiences.
Early in your tenure, you'll primarily execute within established account strategies while building your understanding of our clients and internal processes. Over time, you take on increasing ownership of strategic direction — but this is a role where execution excellence is as valued as strategic thinking, and we want someone who's genuinely energized by both.
You are passionately engaged with this evolving search landscape and understand how to position brands for visibility across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven interfaces. You don't just optimize for rankings, you think about discoverability, content visibility within AI-generated results, and how search behavior is shifting.
You're intellectually curious, systems-minded, and not afraid to test emerging tools, design AI-driven workflows, or challenge conventional SEO thinking.
Role Highlights
- Lead organic strategy for a portfolio of clients, building annual and quarterly roadmaps that account for both traditional SEO performance and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) visibility across AI-driven search environments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, guiding strategic conversations around organic growth, AI Overviews, LLM-powered discovery tools, and how evolving search behavior impacts brand visibility and competitive positioning.
- On any given week, you might respond to a dozen client-related messages, prep a QBR, onboard a new stakeholder, and triage an unexpected client ask, all while keeping deliverables on track. You are comfortable context-switching quickly and know when a fast response is more valuable than a perfect one.
- Conduct in-depth content gap analyses, competitive research, keyword strategy, and SERP landscape analysis including evaluating how client content surfaces within traditional Search, AI-generated results and other generative search experiences.
- Translate performance data from GA4, Adobe, and Search Console into clear, actionable insights, connecting ranking shifts, traffic trends, SERP feature changes, and generative visibility signals back to client goals.
- Strengthen technical foundations such as site architecture, internal linking, and structured data to improve crawlability, entity clarity, and overall discoverability across both traditional search engines and generative platforms.
- Work closely with 1-2 associates per account, directing their work, reviewing deliverables, and developing their skills. This is not formal people management — their team lead owns that — but you are the day-to-day mentor and quality check. Strong account managers can explain not just what to fix but why.
- Leverage tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and automation platforms (Zapier, APIs) to accelerate research, synthesize insights, and support scalable SEO and GEO workflows.
- Test, refine, and document AI-driven workflows and GEO experiments that enhance strategic thinking, surface new opportunities, and shape Seer's evolving approach to modern organic visibility.
Essential Skills
You have experience building and driving SEO strategy across multiple industries, with the ability to evolve strategy as search shifts toward AI-generated summaries and generative search interfaces.
You have a strong technical SEO foundation, including site architecture, structured data, indexing diagnostics, and performance analysis — with an understanding of how these elements influence both traditional rankings and generative visibility.
You are able to tie SEO and GEO performance to business outcomes and confidently communicate strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
You are comfortable working in Wrike as your daily operating system — managing blueprints, tracking deliverable burn, setting task dependencies, and keeping accounts moving within the interface. On accounts without a dedicated PM (roughly a quarter of your book), you own the project management layer.
You are comfortable working with AI and LLM tools beyond surface-level usage — using them to analyze data, pressure-test ideas, support research, and improve workflows.
You have strong analytical fluency across platforms such as GA4, Adobe, Search Console, and leading SEO tools, with curiosity around emerging GEO measurement indicators such as AI Overview presence, generative citations, and SERP volatility.
You are a critical thinker who evaluates AI-generated insights and GEO opportunities through real business context rather than relying solely on automation.
90 Day Goals
By Day 30, you will have completed division training and begun to support clients
By Day 60, you will have supported at least 2 impactful client initiatives
By Day 90, you will have ownership of your accounts and be delivering independently, with your team lead still actively in the loop on strategy and major client moments. Full independence typically takes 4-6 months; we’re looking for strong momentum at 90 days, not perfection.
This might not be the right role for you if
Time-management, context-switching, and juggling multiple projects is quite challenging
You do not want continued-learning and innovation to be an expectation
Change management is difficult and you struggle with adapting to new tools and processes
Your AI usage stops at asking ChatGPT for content drafts or simple edits, or you struggle to adapt when tools break
Client communication feels like overhead rather than a core part of the value you deliver. The most successful account managers here genuinely enjoy talking to clients, navigating ambiguity with them, and spending real time on relationship management, not just strategy decks.
Compensation & Benefits
