ABOUT THE ROLE
Byte&Kite is a digital marketing agency helping clients across a range of industries grow through effective digital marketing and search. As an SEO Specialist, you will own technical and content SEO across multiple client accounts, working across audits, site architecture, internal linking, content strategy and performance measurement. You will work closely with content, development and marketing teams to turn SEO opportunities into practical actions that improve organic visibility and business results.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Run technical SEO audits and turn findings into prioritised, actionable recommendations

  • Analyse crawling, indexation, Core Web Vitals and other technical factors affecting organic performance

  • Own site architecture and internal linking recommendations across client websites

  • Develop SEO strategies based on business goals, search demand, competition and site performance

  • Create content briefs alongside the content team, including search intent, keyword targeting, structure and optimisation recommendations

  • Analyse ranking, traffic and conversion changes and identify the likely causes rather than relying on surface-level trends

  • Monitor organic search performance and identify opportunities for growth

  • Report monthly on rankings, organic traffic and conversions with clear and honest attribution

  • Work with developers and content teams to support SEO recommendations through implementation

  • Keep the team current on meaningful Google algorithm, SERP and industry changes

  • Communicate SEO recommendations clearly to clients and explain the expected impact and priorities

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally across multiple websites or client accounts

  • Strong understanding of technical SEO, including crawling, indexation, site architecture and Core Web Vitals

  • Experience conducting SEO audits and translating findings into practical recommendations

  • Proven experience improving organic visibility and traffic, with client results you can discuss in detail

  • Strong understanding of keyword research, search intent, on-page optimisation and content strategy

  • Clear separation of correlation from causation when analysing and reporting on SEO performance

  • Fluent in tools such as Screaming Frog, Ahrefs or Semrush, and Google Search Console

  • Comfortable working with content, development and marketing teams to implement SEO recommendations

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate why performance changed rather than simply report what changed

  • Comfortable presenting SEO findings and recommendations directly to clients

NICE TO HAVE
Agency experience; international or multilingual SEO; experience with technical SEO implementation; familiarity with common CMS platforms; experience with GA4 and Google Analytics; and knowledge of structured data, JavaScript SEO or SEO automation.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
