Team (Project) Introduction 
The Service Management Platform (SMP) Management Support Services project provides enterprise operational, technical, and governance support for the USPTO ServiceNow environment. The program ensures platform stability, security, and compliance while enabling continuous improvement through Agile delivery of enhancements, integrations, and reporting across ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, security, and asset management capabilities. SMP personnel support both daytoday operations and strategic modernization initiatives in alignment with USPTO policies, ServiceNow best practices, and Governmentapproved governance processes. 

Professional Level Information: 

The ServiceNow Test Analyst aligns as an L3 position at 9th Way Insignia. The Test Analyst supports the USPTO Service Management Platform (SMP) and is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of ServiceNow configurations, enhancements, and integrations prior to production deployment. This role focuses on test planning, execution, validation, and defect management to ensure all SMP deliverables meet Government-approved requirements, ServiceNow best practices, and USPTO quality standards. The ServiceNow Test Analyst works closely with Product Owners, Developers, Administrators, Architects, and the Program Manager to support Agile delivery and continuous improvement across the SMP environment. 

 Responsibilities 

  • Develop, execute, and maintain test strategies, test plans, and test cases for ServiceNow applications, configurations, and integrations supporting SMP. 
  • Perform manual and automated testing activities during Agile sprints, including functional, regression, and integration testing. 
  • Validate ServiceNow enhancements and fixes prior to deployment, ensuring alignment with approved user stories and acceptance criteria. 
  • Support pre-deployment validation, regression testing, and release readiness activities for SMP releases. 
  • Document and track defects, coordinate with Developers and Administrators on resolution, and verify fixes prior to closure. 
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming, release demos, and retrospectives as required. 
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage aligns with business needs. 
  • Ensure testing activities comply with USPTO policies, SMP governance, and ServiceNow best practices. 
  • Maintain test documentation and artifacts to support audits, quality reviews, and knowledge transfer. 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline or 8 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree. 
  • Four (4) years of experience performing software or ServiceNow testing in an Agile environment. 
  • Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and regression testing activities. 
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow platform functionality and IT Service Management (ITSM) concepts. 
  • Experience with defect tracking and test documentation. 
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills. 
  • U.S. Citizenship required and ability to meet USPTO onboarding and clearance requirements. 

Preferred/Desired  

  • Experience testing ServiceNow implementations in a federal government environment. 
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies. 
  • Experience supporting automated testing tools or frameworks. 
  • Knowledge of ITIL-based service management practices. 
  • ServiceNow or software testing certifications. 
Salary Range
$61,180.89$71,575.89 USD
