Stryker is looking to hire a Lean Manager. This is a highly specialized individual contributor position in Redmond, WA.

What you will do:

The Lean Manager will develop a Manufacturing Excellence roadmap to transform multiple business units across the Medical franchise, positioning manufacturing as a competitive advantage for Stryker. This role will manage a portfolio of projects that drive breakthrough performance improvements across strategic KPIs, including safety, quality, productivity, and cost. Responsibilities include leading the efforts of the lean lighthouse, VSM, TPI, and kaizen roadmaps; developing talent and core competencies to support strategy execution; and embedding daily Continuous Improvement behaviors into the culture. Additionally, the Lean Manager will collaborate with Global Manufacturing to share best practices and implement continuous improvement standards. This role also partners with internal manufacturing teams, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to optimize design and processes for manufacturability. As a lean champion, this leader will influence the extended value chain from order entry to customer delivery in pursuit of manufacturing excellence.

  • Drive lean to further our path to become a world-class value chain partner and ensures site and functional objectives align to GQO Manufacturing Excellence strategy
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/6S methodologies and tools with cross functional teams from inception through implementation of recommendations and solutions
  • Lead and facilitate Gemba walks, coach on continuous improvement, standard work development/modification/adherence, piece flow, takt time attainment, and problem-solving abnormalities causing issues
  • Assist in Business Unit Labor Modeling by leading teams to evaluate production layouts, time studies and productivity standards
  • Develop value stream maps and conducts/facilitates value stream analyses at plant(s) and unit(s) levels
  • Manage portfolio of projects for the site and tracks and communicates performance to commitments through standard PMO
  • Provide communication and coaches employees and leaders on the direction of Lean Transformation and daily management initiatives to drive lean behaviors
  • Independently perform other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Implement Lean techniques and Six Sigma methodologies during project execution in order to achieve defined project objectives.

    • Machine and workstation capacity

  • Drive Problem Solving (prefer DMAIC expertise and ability to coach Lean Six Sigma)

What you need:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a related field
  • 8+ years of Manufacturing experience
  • 8+ years of Continuous Improvement and/or Engineering leadership experience including familiarity with Toyota Production Systems/ LEAN and value stream mapping
  • Lean kaizen facilitation

Preferred:

  • Lean Sigma Black Belt
  • Master's degree
  • Medical device or automotive experience
  • Project Management Certification
  • Six Sigma Certification

$132,900 - $217,500 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

Travel Percentage: 10%
