Site Reliability Engineer, Foundation - Seattle  

Why We Have This Role

We are seeking a skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our Foundation Gov1 Team. This role is critical in maintaining and improving our environment, focusing on delivering reliable, secure, and efficient infrastructure solutions for our non-US teams within the Foundation Product Unit.

Must be able to access Gov1 Environment:

  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder (permanent resident)
  • Must agree to Rules of Behavior for accessing Gov1 
    • Rules generally entail:
      • Following IT and Security policies with regards to access, control and device usage
      • Protecting customer data and following policies around confidentiality
      • Staying up to date with required company training

How You’ll Find Success

  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Self-organize and manage priorities across multiple technical domains.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations for system improvements.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders about project status and technical decisions.
  • Take ownership of technical projects from conception to completion with minimal guidance.

Things You’ll Do

  • Automate builds, deployments, monitoring, and alerting processes.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform.
  • Execute security compliance measures and controls.
  • Conduct advanced performance tuning for databases and application systems with containerized environments in mind.
  • Design and implement automation solutions for routine operational tasks using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring systems and alerting configurations.
  • Optimize database performance through advanced query and management strategies.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code solutions to enhance system efficiency.
  • Enhance existing CI/CD pipelines and ensure smooth integration with tools like Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Ensure compliance with security measures and perform systematic troubleshooting of production issues.

What We’re Looking For On Your Resume 

  • 1-3+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, Go).
  • Solid understanding of SQL and database operations.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with monitoring solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotations and a proactive approach to issues.

For full-time positions, this pay range is for base per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be included in an employment offer, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and other benefits, based on eligibility criteria.
