  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams across supply chain, engineering, quality, and operations to ensure seamless technical integration of propulsion sub-system and components
  • Champion comprehensive root cause and corrective action processes and discipline to address significant technical issues within propulsion domain (to include Boeing designed solutions and supplier delivered solutions)
  • Prevent traveled technical risk and ensure that technical risks and issues are driven rapidly to closure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and program teams to identify and address propulsion sub-system and component related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to propulsion sub-system and component engineering teams, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Implement and enforce engineering functional excellence in people, processes, tools, and practices.
  • Sponsor and support propulsion agenda topics at the SLS Program Engineering Review Board.
  • Represent the Office of the Chief Engineer in technical and programmatic reviews, as delegated.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
