The Social Media & Community Lead will build and grow a community for independent pizzerias, create engaging content across social platforms, and track performance metrics. They will launch new channels and travel up to 25% of the time.
The summary above was generated by AI

Ilir Sela started Slice with the belief that local pizzerias deserve all of the advantages of major franchises without compromising their independence. Starting with his family’s pizzerias, we now empower over tens of thousands of restaurants with the technology, services, and collective power that owners need to better serve their digitally minded customers and build lasting businesses. We’re growing and adding more talent to help fulfil this valuable mission. That’s where you come in.

The Challenge to Solve

Use social media and community as the front lines for making independent pizzeria owners feel seen, supported, and part of something bigger than their own shops. Turn Slice’s channels into a place where owners recognize themselves, learn from each other, and feel like they’re not navigating the industry alone.

The Role

We’re looking for a Social & Community Lead who doesn’t just “run accounts,” but builds movements, creates momentum, and turns pizzeria owners into a real, living community both online and IRL.

This role will sit on the Content team within the Marketing Org, and report to the Director of Content Marketing.

What you’ll do:
  • Build and grow Slice’s social and community presence into a trusted voice for independent pizzerias
  • Launch, test, and scale new and existing social channels (TikTok, etc.)
  • Help ideate, produce, and publish content that owners actually care about
  • Create feedback loops between social, community, content, and Slice as a business
  • Show how social and community efforts connect to real outcomes
  • Appear on-camera and in social media content to humanize the Slice brand perception.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time
  • Create content yourself, every week.
    • Static images and quick-turn graphics
    • Short-form video (Reels, Shorts, TikToks)
    • Simple animations and motion pieces
    • Carousels and swipeable explainers
    • Fast-turn, in-the-moment content tied to news, trends, or community moments

This role is built for someone who can move fast, create high-quality content (without overthinking it), pitch ideas confidently, and understand the Slice business inside and out.

Tools you should be comfortable with:

  • Canva (quick production, templates, brand systems)
  • Meta Edits or similar mobile-first editing tools
  • Native platform tools across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and emerging channels
  • (Bonus) Experience with simple animation, captions, or AI-assisted tools
  • Comfortable with Adobe Creative Suite is helpful

You don’t need to be a designer, but you do need to know how to ship.

Measuring impact matters

We care about learning, momentum, and outcomes. You should be ready to track detailed performance across all channels, identify what’s working and why, and shift quickly based on results. If you think about social as a system, not just a feed, you’ll thrive.

The Winning Recipe

You won’t be managing “brand vibes.”
You’ll be shaping how thousands of independent pizzeria owners see their future.

  •  A portfolio is required
  • Thrive on building and managing community
  • Can produce content, not just schedule it
  • Have an instinct for launching new social channels and making them matter
  • Are genuinely curious about how the pizzeria industry works
  • Stay tapped into best practices, platform shifts, and cultural moments
  • Partner well with writers, designers, leadership, and sales
  • Are excited to travel and meet the people behind the pizza
  • Understand how to measure impact, not just impressions
  • Have 3+ years experience managing social media and community

If you’re looking for a job where:

  • Your ideas ship fast
  • Your voice matters
  • And your work shows up in the real world

The Extras
Working at Slice comes with a comprehensive set of benefits, but here are some of the unexpected highlights:

  • Flexible PTO
  • Market leading medical, vision and dental insurance
  • 401K matching up to 4%
  • Monthly wellness reimbursement/stipend
  • Weekly pizza stipend (Yes, that’s a thing!)

Salary Range: $80,000-100,000 + benefits

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
