Overview:
Alex and Ani is seeking a creative, social-first Social Media Coordinator to support content creation, creator collaborations, and day-to-day social execution during the summer season, with the potential to extend beyond.
This role is ideal for a current student, recent graduate, or early-career creator who is deeply fluent in TikTok and Instagram culture, passionate about fashion and jewelry content, and excited to help bring engaging, trend-forward ideas to life.
The Social Media Coordinator will work closely with the Social Media Manager, report to the Senior Director of Marketing, and collaborate with the Creative team to support content development, campaign execution, and social storytelling. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain exposure across content creation, influencer partnerships, and brand marketing within a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Schedule social media content across platforms, including product tagging, captions, optimized posting times, and organized tracking links for Link in Bio, Stories, and campaigns
- Support on content shoot days by capturing social-first product content and assisting with on-camera activations (e.g., street-style interviews and in-field content)
- Travel locally (within 35 miles) for content creation days alongside the Social Media Manager
- Assist with influencer and creator gifting coordination, including tracking shipments, organizing deliverables, and maintaining campaign documentation
- Stay actively immersed in TikTok and Instagram trends, contributing ideas and supporting execution of trend-based content during shoots and activations
- Participate in on-camera content creation as part of social-first storytelling
- Support the team with social reporting, campaign organization, and other day-to-day marketing coordination needs as needed
Required Qualifications
- Must have reliable transportation and be comfortable traveling locally within the Detroit area for content shoots and activations
- Flexible part-time scheduling, with availability during standard working hours preferred
- Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram, and current social media trends
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting
- Experience with Google Drive, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, and/or social media scheduling tools (such as Hootsuite)
- Comfortable being on camera and participating in social-first video content
- Interest in fashion, jewelry, beauty, influencer marketing, and digital storytelling strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in progress or completed in Marketing, Communications, PR, Digital Media, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field preferred
