Why This Is Different:
Why You'll Love Working With Us:
Function’s mission is simple: help 8 billion people live 100 healthy years. Since launching in 2023, we’ve made whole-body lab testing and MRI scans a consumer product. We’re a TIME100 Most Influential Company, backed by $350M+ from top-tier investors, serving hundreds of thousands on subscription. Our ambition: make Function the default health brand—like Google for search or Uber for rides.
Social is the pulse of culture—and this role owns it. This is a high-visibility, high-accountability seat that drives both growth and brand. You’ll scale reach and relevance fast, set creative standards, and win in real time across platforms.
You’re a strategist, creative director, and operator in one. You ship relentlessly, defend your POV with data, and believe community is the strategy. If you haven’t personally posted, responded, or made calls in the moment, this isn’t for you.
- End-to-end ownership of multi-channel social growth with a mandate for step-change results.
- Proven performance across Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, YouTube, Threads, and Facebook—each with a clear role.
- Build and run an always-on, performance-driven social engine.
- Translate company priorities into platform-native content and experiments.
- Move on signal, not ego.
- Set the creative bar with exceptional taste and cultural judgment.
- Decide what to ignore, adapt, or originate—no trend chasing.
- Create formats and moments others copy.
- Sweat the details: voice, captions, pacing, color, typography, systems.
- Make Function recognizable without a logo.
- Stay ahead of platform changes and act early.
- Model best-in-class real-time engagement: fast, human, on-brand.
- Build teams, processes, and response frameworks that scale quality at speed.
- Define the metrics that matter and hold the line.
- Clearly report impact to leadership.
- Teach the org how social drives the business.
- Shape launches and narratives with marketing, brand, creators, partnerships, product, and comms.
- Own a clear view of where social is going in 1–3 years—and build for it.
- 8+ years owning social strategy and execution at scale.
- Meaningful growth across multiple platforms to millions of followers.
- Deep real-time operating experience.
- Sharp creative taste and the confidence to defend it.
- Strong analytics tied to business outcomes.
- Experience building and leading high-performing teams.
- Fast, decisive, and accountable in public.
- Detail-obsessed, not precious.
- Calm under pressure.
- Opinionated, curious, always learning.
To be a strong fit, you embody our Core Values:
- Ruthless Prioritization:
- We don’t let perfect get in the way of progress.

- We act with urgency and precision.
- We anticipate, initiate, and follow through.
- We meet challenges with grit and pragmatism.

- We are ruthlessly aligned to our mission—and leave ego at the door.
- We disagree and commit.
- We don't tolerate politics or withholding information.

- We earn trust by obsessing over accuracy, quality, and clarity in everything we do
- We prioritize clinical precision—data must be right.
- We sweat the details because outcomes depend on them.
There’s no playbook. You’ll write it. This is a chance to define how the category-defining health brand shows up in culture, earns trust, and builds community at scale. If you want to push social forward—not manage it—this role is for you.
