As a Lead Producer on teamLFG, you will be responsible for a group of teams creating a major portion of a brand new IP at PlayStation. Through collaboration with other product leaders, the Lead Producer is responsible for creation of thorough production plans for their area and execution against those plans in a sustainable way, including updating and altering the plans as needed. The Lead Producer aides the Executive Producer in ensuring that the team follows production best practices and handles management and career growth of the producers on their team. This is a process and people driven role that requires a strong focus on establishing and maintaining efficient lines of communication. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and empathetic organizer of people and process who embodies a service mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of producers within your game area to create robust production plans and execute against those plans, adjusting to the changing needs of the project over time

  • Understand overall project goals and use those to inform planning and decisions in your areas of ownership

  • Identify and collaborate with other discipline leads to mitigate risks within your areas of ownership, ensuring that the team has the space to create something amazing while staying on a path toward ship

  • Manage and direct producers within your development group, collaborate with them to define near-term goals, mentor them regarding project or people challenges, and support them in achieving career objectives

  • Produce the Leadership Team for your area including scheduling and running rituals, tracking risks, etc

  • Establish production pipelines and processes for your areas of ownership

  • Iterate on production processes over time to continuously improve our collaboration, transparency, and velocity

  • Lead by example, demonstrating production best practices and subject matter expertise within your area

  • Directly produce feature teams within your area as needed

  • Collaborate with Executive Producer and other producers to align production plans across all areas of development

  • Assist the Executive Producer in managing production budgets, including both staff headcount and development budget

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven internal game development experience in a production leadership role, including experience producing creative teams

  • Exemplary communication skills, outstanding analytical skills, and attention to detail

  • Social intelligence, great interpersonal skills, and empathy for creative teams

  • Strong critical thinking skills, results oriented, focused and composed under pressure

  • Understanding of agile ways of working and a proven track record of applying agile concepts and practices

  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, including effectively leading a team despite that ambiguity

  • Demonstrable product acumen to inform subjective product opinions

  • Commitment to the principles of servant leadership

  • Proficient in JIRA, Excel, Confluence or equivalent production tools

  • Experience working on a live game ("games as a service")

Nice-To-Have Skills

  • Experience working on development of a new IP from preproduction through ship and sustain

  • Experience producing teams creating Social games and modes

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$162,000$243,000 USD
