Position: Software Developer – ETL
We are seeking an experienced Software Developer – ETL to design, develop, optimize, and support enterprise-scale data integration
solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and
maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing solutions, database
integrations, and cloud-based data platforms while ensuring high-quality,
scalable, and maintainable data architecture.
Key Responsibilities
ETL & Data Integration
- Design,
implement, and continuously expand data pipelines through extraction,
transformation, and loading activities.
- Build,
automate, and optimize complex ETL/ELT processes.
- Develop
data transformation, cleansing, loading, and migration solutions across
multiple platforms.
- Investigate
data issues within ETL pipelines and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure
data architecture remains scalable, maintainable, and aligned with
business requirements.
- Create
and maintain detailed ETL process documentation.
Software Development
- Translate
technical system specifications into tested, working applications.
- Develop
detailed programming specifications and generate production-ready code.
- Conduct
unit testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and code optimization.
- Support
implementation, conversion, migration, and post-deployment activities.
- Participate
in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Data Warehouse & Database Development
- Design
and develop data warehouse solutions including star and snowflake schemas.
- Create
denormalized data assets from highly normalized databases.
- Develop
complex SQL procedures, packages, scripts, and database components.
- Perform
database performance tuning, optimization, and data replication
activities.
- Support
data migration and integration initiatives across heterogeneous
environments.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Collaborate
with business analysts, stakeholders, subject matter experts, QA teams,
and developers.
- Conduct
technical evaluations and recommend solution approaches.
- Support
architecture alignment, technical documentation, and integration planning.
- Contribute
to project planning, estimation, and technical design discussions.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- 5+
years of experience with data warehousing design and development.
- Strong
expertise in ETL/ELT development and data integration.
- Advanced
SQL skills including PL/SQL and T-SQL.
- Experience
with relational databases including Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL.
- Knowledge
of dimensional and relational data modeling.
- Experience
with cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Hands-on
experience with Azure SQL Server and Azure Data Factory.
- Experience
creating Azure Data Factory pipelines and custom data integration
solutions.
- Proficiency
with Python and Unix Shell scripting.
- Experience
with Elasticsearch performance tuning and reporting solutions.
- Experience
using GitHub for version control.
- Experience
working with JIRA and Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge
of Oracle technologies including Oracle Enterprise Manager, RAC, Data
Guard, Exadata, and Oracle Warehouse Builder.
- Experience
with database recovery, refresh, failover, and performance tuning
activities.
- Experience
with data migration and integration across different operating
environments.
Core Skills

with large-scale, mission-critical applications.
- Knowledge
of web-based applications, microservices architecture, and integration
technologies.
- Experience
producing technical documentation and system design artifacts.

with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and SDLC methodologies.
- Understanding
of usability, security, and privacy considerations in application
development.
Public Sector Experience
- Experience
working on projects involving federal, provincial, or municipal government
organizations.
- Experience
with environmental data migration and integration initiatives.
- Knowledge
of enterprise architecture frameworks, methodologies, and governance
processes commonly used in public sector environments.
- Experience
following structured project delivery and system development
methodologies.

Work Arrangement
- Hybrid
work model.
