In This Role

In this role, you will support the execution, stability, and performance of large‑scale build systems and development pipelines used across multiple active products. You will be part of a production technology group that develops and maintains shared infrastructure, tooling, and middleware that enables teams to build, test, and ship content efficiently.

This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on implementation, optimization, and day‑to‑day pipeline reliability rather than architecture ownership. You will work within established systems, collaborating closely with engineers, DevOps partners, and technical leadership to ensure builds remain fast, reliable, and scalable throughout ongoing development cycles.

ResponsibilitiesBuild Systems Execution
  • Maintain, operate, and improve CI/CD pipelines and build configurations supporting large‑scale development
  • Debug and resolve build failures, intermittent breakages, and configuration inconsistencies
  • Optimize build performance through improved caching strategies, parallelization, and pipeline efficiency
  • Support branching, merging, and release workflows across multiple simultaneous development schedules
Pipeline & Tooling Support
  • Implement and maintain asset, content, and data pipelines used by development teams
  • Support internal tools used by engineering, art, and design disciplines
  • Troubleshoot pipeline and tooling issues that impact developer productivity and workflows
  • Provide remote support to distributed teams and external development partners as needed
Stability & Reliability
  • Monitor build health, success rates, and pipeline reliability
  • Identify recurring or systemic issues and implement long‑term fixes
  • Improve logging, diagnostics, and overall debuggability of build and pipeline systems
  • Contribute to stabilization efforts during critical development and release milestones
Collaboration & Execution
  • Collaborate with full‑time engineers, DevOps personnel, and technical leadership
  • Execute against clearly defined tasks, priorities, and timelines
  • Communicate progress, blockers, risks, and resolutions clearly and consistently
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of production technology practices and processes
Qualifications
  • 5–7 years of hands‑on experience working with CI/CD systems supporting large‑scale software or game development
  • 5–7 years of experience supporting or operating scalable infrastructure systems in enterprise or game development environments
  • Strong programming and scripting experience, including:
    • C# (required)
    • PowerShell (required)
    • Additional scripting languages used in automation or pipeline tooling
  • Proven experience debugging complex build and pipeline issues across multiple environments
  • Experience working within established systems and tooling rather than greenfield development
  • Ability to support teams remotely and work effectively with distributed stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with large‑scale game build systems or content pipelines
  • Prior experience supporting external development partners or co‑development teams
  • Familiarity with asset and data pipelines used in creative production environments
  • Experience optimizing build performance for speed, reliability, and scalability
  • Strong understanding of version control workflows, including branching and release processes
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
