Job Description

The Software Engineering Manager is a hands-on, top-level leadership position. You will oversee and contribute to the creation of solutions and architectures for high-volume, high-transaction applications across the Experian Employer Services (EES) organization. You will oversee the work of the software engineering and QA teams. You are able to write code and lead code reviews. Additionally, you evaluate SAST findings and champion security. You also mentor engineers, enhance our Agile posture, and plan SCRUM teams. Furthermore, you hire talent and collaborate closely with other members of the larger Experian Employer Services organization. All of these efforts ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. The Software Engineering Manager will also work with members of software and QA teams from acquired organizations to identify skills and gaps. You will work remotely and report to the Director of Software Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee progress, daily-activity status, and overall main project activities on a daily basis.
  • Work with engineering teams, UI/UX, and QA to meet all project deliverables and milestone dates.
  • Experience partnering with product, design, and engineering to establish and steward a multi-year development roadmap.
  • Analyze requirements and collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure product changes are delivered.
  • Manage staff and assign tasks to engineering and technical personnel.
  • Oversee project logistics and resource allocation.
  • Aim to improve the efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs.
  • Lead the team through the Agile SCRUM process.
  • Promote DevOps culture and work with IT.
  • Be on-call rotation for any platform emergencies.
  • Oversee product deployment activities.
  • Plan for team capacity and form SCRUM teams.
  • Monitor and report on team performance metrics.
  • Provide regular/meaningful updates to leadership on sprint progress.
  • Work with Product Owners to ensure that development output meets requirements.

Qualifications

General Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science
  • 15+ years of experience in software development
  • 5+ years of professional management experience
  • 8+ years of professional Microsoft.NET development and architecture experience

Technical Requirements:

  • Experience with Azure Cloud Solutions (IaaS, SaaS)
  • Experience with C#, .NET Framework & DotNet Core
  • Experience with MS SQL Server, T-SQL, and relational database design
  • Experience with ETL technologies like SSIS, ADF, Data Bricks, Azure Synapse and Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience with Frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, ReactJS)
  • Experience with Agile software methodologies

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with API development and integrations
  • Knowledgeable in the latest Architectural Patterns and Cloud Native development
  • Experience in API's microservices, container development and integrations
  • Experience with ETL technologies like SSIS, ADF, Data Bricks
  • Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Entity Framework or other ORM
