Build and perform end-to-end ownership of backend infrastructure, including distributed data stores, data processing pipelines, and high-performance front end servers. Ship code multiple times a day, while owning the testing, automating, maintaining, and troubleshooting of features/product. Analyze systems, infrastructure, and tooling to optimize for better performance. Process the terabytes of data received by servers in order to better understand users, system requirements and capabilities, and help design solutions to increase the efficiency of platform. Be part of a technical excellence culture through state-of-the-art tools, risk-driven testing, explainable systems, and code review. Become an authority in Clojure, Go, and the many other cutting-edge open-source technologies that maximize development velocity and business revenue. Work as part of the technical team to deliver on software projects using proven development processes (Agile/SCRUM). Contribute to requirements gathering, architecture, design, and implementation of predictive, high-performance marketing software. Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) to collaborate with stake holders on requirements and respond with deliverables in agile methodology for frequent releases. Employee may request to work from any city & county in the following states: CA, CO, ID, IL, GA, MA, MO, MN, NJ, NV, NY, OR, RI, TX, UT, WA. Salary: $207,000 - $240,000 per year.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or any position/occupation/job title performing backend infrastructure engineering.


In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, plus 3 years of professional experience as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or any position/occupation/job title performing backend infrastructure engineering.


Must also have experience in the following: 3 years of professional experience in software programming (clean, efficient, and scalable) using Golang, Java, C# or Python; 3 years of professional experience in designing and implementing highly scalable and distributed systems; 3 years of professional experience working within a highly agile and intensely iterative software development process, and with the principles of agile development, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD); 3 years of professional experience designing and developing web applications; and 1 year of professional experience utilizing SQL and NoSQL databases, and performing database design, optimization, and management to support large-scale applications.

Liftoff's Compensation Strategy

Liftoff's compensation strategy includes competitive market rate along with equity and benefits and perks that will give our employees what they need to do their best work. In order to ensure teams are compensated fairly for the work performed, we map out specific levels and take into consideration the cost of labor within each location. Liftoff provides employees a total compensation package of competitive market salaries, equity, health and wellness stipends, medical benefits associated with your country of residence. The base compensation will vary based on location, experience as well as level.
