About Vector

At Vector, we know our economy relies on ground transport. And without trucks on the road making connections - on track, on schedule - business falls behind, leading to lost time and investment. Our mission: maximize efficiency throughout the entire freight lifecycle with our mobile technology, designed to achieve faster connection times and deliver new insights for logistics businesses everywhere.

We’re helping yesterday's trucking industry rethink and modernize today's logistics environment.

About the Role

You’ll be working on our web application team which includes frontend developers and designers. You’ll collaborate closely with our product team to deliver a world class user experience on the web.

We care more about technical fundamentals than we do with knowledge of a particular technical stack. In case you’re curious, we use ReactJS and SASS as some of the core frontend technologies.

We’re looking for an engineer that cares deeply about building a beautiful experience using ReactJS. It’s helpful if you have experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and any web frontend frameworks.

What You’ll Do

  • Help architect our web application

  • Work with designers to build UI components

  • Write tests

What We’re Looking For

  • Professional engineering experience building web applications for commercially shipped product companies

  • Advanced level knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5

  • Proficiency with Javascript frameworks such as React and Angular

  • Strong understanding, building and debugging of scalable, high performance web applications built with reusability and componentization in mind

  • Experience building front end components with React using modular architecture

  • Knowledge of state management frameworks, such as Redux or Flux

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field preferred. You should be able to demonstrate superior understanding of CS fundamentals

Benefits

  • Employer-sponsored medical, dental, vision, 401K, life & disability insurance

  • Flexible paid time off and observed federal holidays

  • Stock options

  • Remote work

  • Parental leave of absence

  • Flat org structure, offering startup growth and learning paths

Salary Range

$160,000 - $180,000 USD

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
