As a recognized leader in providing Private Markets Solutions to clients across the globe we manage approximately $140.9 billion in discretionary assets and have oversight of an additional $845.3 in non-discretionary assets as of June 30, 2025.

The Opportunity:

This role will engage across a full-featured software design lifecycle to deliver direct value to internal and external technology solutions. The primary product under development, Cobalt (www.cobaltlp.com), is an industry leading diligence and analytics platform for the private markets.

This opportunity is a software development focused role to join an entrepreneurial, spirited team set within a successful, supportive, and innovative market leader. As a member of this team, you will contribute to our entire technology stack, providing platform and architectural contributions, mentorship, and best practice guidance, along with cross-team collaboration and communication.

Someone who is successful in this role has the energy and drive to learn and tackle new challenges with autonomy in a highly collaborative environment.

Your responsibilities will be to:  

  • Collaborate with other team members across product, QA, and development teams as well as business stakeholders to implement new features, enhancements, and improvements to our platform.
  • Bring projects from initial concept through all cycles of development: from project definition, development, debugging, release, and iteration.
  • Build sound solutions ensuring scalability, extensibility, and maintainability.
  • Operate with integrity and work collaboratively with peers and juniors in an open and supportive environment.
  • Develop domain knowledge of how disparate services and sub-processes of our data and code paths interlink and function.
  • Become proficiently versed and vested in our data model to best leverage our multi-data source environment.
  • Deliver meaningful value and progress through a rigorous software design lifecycle within an Agile Scrum framework.
  • Document and closeout sprint tickets professionally, with attention to detail.

Your background will include:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Computer Science, similar technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  •  3-5+ years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or similar roles utilizing open-source technologies.  
  • Strong experience with object-oriented languages (Such as Python and JavaScript) and software engineering fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structure, testable code, and algorithms.
  • Experience with refactoring and continuously improving object-oriented code through Agile development methods is also required.
  • Other tools used will include Flask, SQLAlchemy, Celery, React, Postgres, ORMs, Redis, Playwright, Git, Docker, Jenkins, SaltStack, AWS, and Change Release Management (Jira/Github).
  • Experience in a SaaS-based product is a plus.
  • Familiarity with full stack software development, including computationally intensive backend development and service design, data storage, and access models, and modern framework.
  • Experience working in a B2B financial service or alternative asset management environment is a plus.
