Taekus is a profitable fintech and travel startup building a next-generation premium banking and rewards ecosystem for affluent customers. With $70M in annual revenue and $3B+ in annual transaction volume, we’re entering a new stage of growth focused on scaling our core banking systems, rewards infrastructure, and partner integrations.

We’re seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to help design, build, and scale our internal systems to support our company's scaled growth. We need to iterate on our admin portal to accommodate the massive scale of our customer based and our client services teams.

We are looking for an engineer with experience building internal portals utilizing various low-code platforms such as Retool or Appsmith that can be built upon by our non-technical team members.

Join us as we tackle a $3.2T opportunity to redefine the super-premium financial services and rewards market—driving innovation beyond what’s existed since the inception of rewards credit cards

Interview Process

Candidates must be able to travel to San Francisco, New York, Chicago, or Austin for an onsite interview. All required travel will be paid for by Taekus.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain internal tools and admin applications that support customer operations, finance, compliance, and client services at scale.

  • Own and evolve our internal admin portal as our customer base and operational complexity grow.

  • Build full-stack internal applications using low-code and no-code platforms (e.g., Retool, Appsmith), integrating with APIs, databases, and third-party systems.

  • Work closely with operations, support, finance, and product teams to turn business processes into reliable, easy-to-use internal tools.

  • Enable non-technical teams through reusable components, well-structured workflows, and maintainable systems.

  • Improve operational efficiency, data visibility, and correctness through thoughtful UX and automation.

  • Collaborate with backend and platform engineers to ensure internal tools are secure, scalable, and aligned with core systems.

  • Participate in planning and prioritization of internal tooling.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience

  • Experience building internal tools, admin portals, or business systems at scale.

  • Hands-on experience with low-code / no-code platforms such as Retool, Appsmith, or similar.

  • Comfort working across the Python/Django stack, including APIs, databases, authentication, and UI design.

  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and backend services.

  • Strong understanding of business workflows and how to design for speed and reliability.

  • Ownership mindset with the ability to take tools from concept to production.

  • Strong communication skills and experience working with non-technical partners.

You’d Love This Job If

  • You enjoy building tools that directly empower internal teams.

  • You like working close to the business and seeing immediate impact.

  • You prefer solving workflow and data problems over consumer-facing UI work.

  • You want to be in a scaling startup that is experiencing exponential growth.

  • Traveling is in your DNA and you get to apply your passion into your work.

  • You thrive in growing high-caliber teams and want to influence both technical and strategic direction.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
