About LexRight

LexRight is a premier implementation partner for legal case management systems, specializing in helping mid-to-large law firms streamline workflows, improve adoption, and eliminate technical burdens. We provide comprehensive services including implementation, data migration, integrations, and managed support that help law firms fully leverage their technology—so they can focus on their clients, not their systems.

Our white-glove approach and deep expertise in legal workflows have made us the trusted partner for law firms seeking to transform how they operate.

The Opportunity

Think of this role like being the architect of a building's foundation—you'll have the unique opportunity to establish IT standards and infrastructure from the ground up, rather than inheriting legacy systems. As one of our first dedicated IT engineers supporting legal clients, you'll shape how we deliver technology solutions to corporate law firms and boutique practices.

We're hiring multiple IT Engineers across our Chicago and New England regions to support 50-100 users per engagement, working with cutting-edge legal technology platforms and custom solutions.

What You'll Do

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage legal software systems including case management platforms, document management systems, and practice management tools
  • Support litigation technology for law firm clients, ensuring smooth operations during critical cases
  • Develop custom solutions including workflow automation, integrations, and AI-powered tools that solve real business problems
  • Lead data migrations from legacy systems to modern platforms with precision and care
  • Build integrations between case management systems, billing platforms, document repositories, and other legal tech tools
  • Implement AI solutions to streamline legal workflows and enhance productivity

You'll Work With

  • Case Management Systems NeoStella
  • Document Management solutions and workflow generation tools
  • Cloud platforms AWS and modern infrastructure
  • Databases including SQL, NoSQL, Graph and Vector databases.
  • Custom development using scripting and automation

What We're Looking For

Experience Level

4+ years of industry experience with a proven ability to manage complex technical environments

Technical Skills

  • Database proficiency with SQL and NoSQL; experience with Graph and Vector DB is highly valued
  • Cloud platform experience with AWS.
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with IaC
  • Best practices with regards to security for users, services and data
  • VPC, IPAM and networking best practices
  • Language proficiency with TypeScript, Python and system scripting (bash/zshell)
  • Framework experience with React, NestJS, and AWS-SDK/CDK
  • Systems integration experience connecting disparate platforms via APIs
  • Scripting and automation capabilities
  • Internal application development to streamline daily business activities
  • Modern development using AI workflows for improved velocity
  • Retrieval Augmented Generation applications
  • User interface design and implementation

Additional Skills

  • Case management systems experience (FileVine, Clio, or similar platforms) is a strong plus
  • Experience with legal practice management software, document management systems, or e-discovery tools is valuable

Professional Qualities

  • Legal industry knowledge or strong interest in understanding law firm operations, compliance, and workflows
  • Client-facing skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical legal professionals
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently in ambiguous situations
  • Entrepreneurial spirit—comfort with building processes and standards where none exist
  • Attention to detail and understanding of data security, attorney-client privilege, and compliance requirements

Why This Role is Unique

Foundational Impact: As one of the first dedicated IT resources supporting our clients, you'll have significant influence over technical direction, tool selection, and service delivery models. Your decisions will shape our platform for years to come.

Diverse Challenges: Every law firm has unique workflows. You'll work across corporate law firms, boutique practices, and various practice areas—never doing the same thing twice.

Cutting-Edge Technology: From AI-powered workflow automation to modern case management platforms, you'll work with the latest legal technology innovations.

Equity Opportunity: Join a growing company with the potential to participate in our success through equity ownership.

Professional Growth: Work alongside legal technology experts and gain deep expertise in a specialized, high-demand field.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications
  • Equity in a growing legal technology services company
  • Hybrid work environment balancing collaboration and flexibility
  • Professional development opportunities in legal technology
  • Meaningful work helping law firms operate more efficiently and serve their clients better
  • Multiple locations available across Chicago area and New England region

Locations

We are hiring for multiple positions in:

  • Greater Chicago region (hybrid)
  • New England (hybrid)

Our Approach

Just as we help law firms transform their operations through thoughtful implementation rather than one-size-fits-all solutions, we build our team the same way. We value depth of expertise over breadth, quality over quantity, and partnership over transactions

We're looking for engineers who understand that legal technology isn't just about software—it's about understanding how attorneys work, what keeps them up at night, and how technology can genuinely make their practice better.

How to Apply

If you're excited about building something from the ground up in a specialized, high-impact field, we'd love to hear from you.

Please submit:

  • Your resume
  • A brief note about why legal technology interests you
  • Any relevant experience with legal software, law firm IT, or case management systems

  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
