Lamina, a West Monroe Company, is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Financial Services Product Team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a team to gather technical requirements, define platform and integration designs, and develop solutions in a team-oriented environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

Functional Responsibilities 

  • Design and develop software applications across multiple programming languages in collaboration with team members.
  • Work directly with clients to understand their business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Employ Agile methodologies to iteratively deliver high-quality products. 

Internal Responsibilities 

  • Solve complex problems using innovative and analytical skills.
  • Lead and communicate effectively with strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Stay motivated to learn and work with a variety of technologies and programming languages. 

Qualifications 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred) or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development.
  • Strong expertise in Object-Oriented Programming concepts.
  • Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and design patterns. 

Technical Expertise 

You should have experience with several of the following: 

Core Technologies: 

  • Back-end: Java, JavaScript 
  • Front-end: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML5, CSS3 
  • Database: SQL Server, PostgreSQL 
  • Cloud: Amazon Web Services (AWS) 
  • AI-Enabled Tooling: Prompt Engineering, Code, Cursor, Claude Sonnet 
  • Automation: AI-powered workflows, unit and integration test automation 

Patterns & Tools: 

  • Patterns: MVC, MVVM, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), REST, GraphQL 
  • Source Control: Git, Azure DevOps 
  • DevOps Tooling: Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes 
  • Package Management: Bower, NPM, Yarn, NuGet 
  • Testing: XUnit, MSTest, Jasmine, Karma, JUnit, RSpec 

Soft Skills 

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative Agile/Scrum environment. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with team members and clients. 
  • Strong mentoring abilities to guide junior team members and conduct code reviews. 
  • Commitment to delivering high-caliber code and solutions. 
  • Openness to diverse perspectives and a commitment to inclusion and diversity. 

 

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Information on our competitive total rewards package, including our bonus structure and benefits is here. Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program and be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Eligibility for ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available upon hire date.
