The Role

Orum's Engineering team plays a pivotal role in driving this vision forward. A remote first company since the beginning- we're tackling some of the toughest challenges sales teams face, and there’s still so much to build.

As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you’ll contribute to the design and development of critical product features that power Orum’s high-performance platform. You’ll work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow Engineers to deliver seamless, impactful user experiences at scale. Our current stack includes Node.js, TypeScript, React, Ruby, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud Platform, and FreeSWITCH.

What you’ll do:

• Own key product features from concept and discovery through implementation, deployment, and iteration.

• Design and build scalable systems (roughly 70% backend, 30% frontend) that support real-time, high-volume workflows—such as routing calls with our event-driven SIP Softswitch or processing audio streams for advanced speech recognition.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with PMs, Designers, and Engineers to shape intuitive, performant experiences. Your ideas and feedback will directly influence our roadmap—we value engineering, product, and design equally.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while contributing to team-wide standards that promote reliability, scalability, and clarity.

• Continuously learn and grow by engaging with teammates, sharing knowledge, and adopting best practices across the stack.

What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years of professional software development experience

• Experience building applications with JavaScript/TypeScript

• Hands-on experience with relational databases (RDBMS) using SQL

• Proven ability to own features end-to-end and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners

• A deep appreciation for simple, maintainable, and well-tested code
