What You'll Be Doing as a Software Engineer Intern
Clean Power Research seeks ambitious students and prospective software engineers to work for a limited-time internship where you'll be mentored by a full-time Clean Power Research software engineer as you work on production code alongside our development and product management teams. You'll be helping us tackle some big challenges, including development of new functionality in a highly scalable cloud-based solution. You'll primarily be using C# and MySQL in a cloud-hosted (AWS) environment. Clean Power Research has several platforms and technologies our interns will work on, and this position is for the PowerClerk team.
PowerClerk powers the rollout and adoption of DERs (e.g., solar, batteries/storage and electric vehicles) at some of the largest utilities in the U.S. by digitizing utility programs through intuitive, self-service interfaces that enable extensive process automation as well as utility back-end system integration. You'll work on the leading software service for utility program automation, and you'll also be writing code used by hundreds of thousands of utility employees, utility customers and energy industry professionals that helps these energy technologies get installed and have an impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, implement and deliver new features in one of our products
- Participate in writing test automation (unit tests and integration tests) and be part of a combined engineering team
- Actively participate with mentor and in team activities
Who You Are
- Be pursuing a BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Have significant hands-on programming experience in at least one of: C#, Java or C++
- Possess and desire to grow core computer science skills including algorithms, data structures, analysis and problem solving
- Able to write and speak effectively in English
Pay Range & Benefits
- Full Time - Temporary Role
- B ase Salary Range: $28-$35 per hour flat rate
- Additional Benefits:
- Paid Sick Time
- Holidays (Prorated based on hours worked)
- Medical/Dental/Vision/Life/Disability insurance only if more than 30 hours per week worked
