Engineering Manager - UCaaS

Your Role:
- Lead senior software and infrastructure engineers responsible for the performance, reliability, and evolution of our UCaaS voice platform
- Partner with Product Management to define goals, set priorities, and translate strategy into execution
- Drive planning and delivery of new features and services while maintaining operational excellence
- Coach and develop engineers through regular 1:1s, performance feedback, and structured growth plans
- Lead sprint ceremonies, status reviews, and execution rhythms that create clarity and accountability
- Champion best practices in infrastructure as code, reproducibility, automation, and observability
- Stay hands-on by guiding architecture decisions and contributing to complex troubleshooting when needed
- Strengthen monitoring, alerting, and system visibility across our VoIP environment
- Ensure voice infrastructure is highly available, scalable, and resilient
- Support escalated technical issues and participate in an on-call rotation (approximately one week per month)
- Lead a high-performing remote team with trust, ownership, and clear communication
Requirements
- 5 years of software, infrastructure, SRE or platform engineering experience
- Leadership and initiative
- Ability to lead a remote-work team
- Organized and detail oriented
- Experience working in a Linux or UNIX-like environment
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling, such as Ansible or Docker
- Relational Databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Experience with version control using Git
- Experience using or building observability stacks, such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Datadog or Nagios
- English fluency and strong writing skills
Skills that would be helpful, but not required:
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or OpenStack
- Proficient with VoIP (SIP, RTP and other real-time communication protocols)
- Proficient with telephony platforms; any of FreeSWITCH, OpenSIPS, Kamailio or Asterisk
- Experience with programming languages such as PHP or Lua
