EchoStar is seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Software Architect II to play a pivotal role in our newly formed Wireless Customer Enterprise Orchestration & AI Solutions team. This critical position will drive the architectural vision, design, and implementation of advanced AI Agents, seamlessly integrating them with our API-first solutions, enterprise systems, and microservices architecture. You will be crucial in unlocking novel automation capabilities, driving intelligent decision-making, and creating transformative digital experiences for our B2B partners within the dynamic wireless ecosystem. This role demands a deep understanding of modern integration patterns, API development best practices, and the ability to define and deliver robust, scalable solutions for our Wholesale, Enterprise, and Retail businesses.

Key Responsibilities:
- Define and drive AI agent orchestration, enterprise integration, and API architecture strategies aligned with business goals.
- Lead the architectural design and full SDLC of AI agents, APIs, and integration platforms, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Design automated workflows where AI agents trigger corrective actions via queues and other systems, with robust monitoring and analytics.
- Develop reusable integration components, API frameworks, and enforce security, performance, and documentation standards.
- Assess emerging technologies (AI agent design, QaaS, etc.) to enhance scalability, efficiency, and ensure responsible AI practices.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor teams, and translate complex AI concepts to diverse stakeholders for successful adoption.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- 8+ years of software development with emphasis on enterprise integration, APIs, and technologies like REST, SOAP, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and event-driven architectures.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Deep expertise in API design, security (OAuth 2.0, API Keys), versioning, and management platforms such as Apigee, Kong, or Mulesoft.
- Hands-on experience with AI agent design, orchestration frameworks, microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and Queueing-as-a-Service (QaaS).
- Strong knowledge of AI concepts for automation, with 3+ years working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native integration patterns.
- Proficiency in SDLC, Agile, CI/CD, automated testing, performance optimization, and programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and collaborate effectively across teams.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience in the telecommunications industry.
- Knowledge of data integration tools and techniques, particularly for establishing seamless data pipelines and integration points between AI agents and existing enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with the CAMARA (Common API Management platform for operator APIs) standard and the principles of open network APIs.
- Experience incorporating and fine-tuning underlying AI/ML models (e.g., LLMs, predictive models, NLP models) that power agent intelligence .
