Business/Job Title: Solution Architect

Life at F5 is never dull. We are constantly identifying industry trends and disruptions, then

innovating to get ahead of future customer needs—creating application services that help

the world’s leading organizations deliver their critical business apps faster and with the

highest levels of flexibility, security, performance, and support. But our success isn’t

driven solely by what we do. We also care deeply about how we do it. At F5, our culture is

how we live, every single day. And it produces extraordinary results—not only for our

customers, but also for our employees. We understand that your life is about more than

just work, so we’re committed to a culture that supports your whole life.

As a Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping transformative technology

solutions that align with Go-To-Market (GTM) strategic business goals. You’ll lead the

architecture and implementation of next-generation systems—especially those leveraging

GenAI and emerging technologies—to drive innovation, enhance operational agility, and

deliver measurable business outcomes. In this high-impact, hands-on role, you’ll work

closely with Product Management, Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, and Business

Stakeholders to architect scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions. You'll be a key

driver of technology-led disruption, continuously identifying opportunities to challenge the

status quo and modernize legacy processes.

What You’ll Do:

Architect and implement GenAI and Agentic AI solutions to power GTM capabilities

such as sales enablement, customer intelligence, deal acceleration, and support

automation.

Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies (AI/ML, LLMs, intelligent

automation, real-time data processing) to reimagine and transform GTM processes.

Translate business and technical requirements into robust, scalable, and secure

architectural blueprints aligned with enterprise strategy.

Champion innovation by staying current with technology trends, evaluating new

tools and frameworks, and bringing forward disruptive capabilities that deliver

competitive advantage.

Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Engineers, and Product Managers to ensure

architectural integrity, scalability, and performance across solutions.

Guide solution design throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring consistency from

concept through implementation.

Ensure interoperability, high availability, compliance, and data security in all

architectural designs.• Present and defend architecture decisions and design exceptions to the

Architecture Review Board (ARB).

Drive and support proof-of-concepts, technical spikes, and evaluations of new

technologies and vendor platforms.

Develop and maintain architecture roadmaps that align with evolving GTM priorities

and platform strategy.

Mentor and consult with agile delivery teams and application architects to promote

architectural best practices and standards.

Lead the design and implementation of solutions across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS

platforms in multi-cloud environments.

Proactively identify risks related to scalability, performance, and integration, and

lead mitigation planning early in the development cycle.

Partner with engineering and support teams to resolve production issues from an

architectural perspective.

What You’ll Bring

Expertise in modern GenAI/LLM technologies and frameworks, including prompt

engineering, fine-tuning, model evaluation, and implementation within GTM

business use cases.

Proficiency in Salesforce platforms (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, AgentForce) and

their extension via PaaS capabilities.

Experience architecting solutions that modernize and automate legacy GTM

processes through intelligent and emerging technologies.

Advanced understanding of object-oriented, functional, and event-driven

programming paradigms.

Skilled in working with large datasets across heterogeneous systems and

integrating data through modern data pipelines and event streaming platforms.

Proficiency in designing and building event-driven architectures that power

responsive and scalable systems.

Strong grasp of agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.

Demonstrated ability to build secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned

with enterprise standards and policies.

Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills; able to

clearly articulate complex concepts to technical and business audiences.

Leadership in cross-functional environments; ability to influence without authority

and align teams around a shared architectural vision.• Passion for innovation and technology trendspotting, with a strong track record of

introducing emerging capabilities to modernize enterprise systems.

Collaborative mindset with a track record of partnering effectively with cross-

functional teams to gather business requirements and assess technical feasibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering,

or a related field, or equivalent work experience. A master's degree is a plus.

10+ years of experience in technical roles within Information Technology, including

experience in enterprise environments with complex system integrations.

8+ years of experience as a software engineer or solutions architect, with a strong

understanding of software development life cycles, architecture patterns, and

engineering practices. Experience with platform engineering or DevOps is a plus.

Hands-on experience implementing and supporting Salesforce solutions, including

Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and custom PaaS applications.

Experience designing or integrating GenAI and LLM-based solutions (e.g., OpenAI,

Anthropic, or open-source models), including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and

model evaluation.

Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native

architecture, including microservices, containers, and serverless computing.

Experience with modern integration patterns and tools such as APIs, messaging

queues, event streams (Kafka, Pub/Sub), and ETL pipelines.

Proficiency in software development paradigms such as object-oriented,

functional, and event-driven programming.

Strong understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance requirements,

including experience implementing secure and compliant solutions in regulated

environments.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience

collaborating across business, product, and engineering teams.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence without

authority, and drive architectural alignment across teams.

Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Salesforce

Architect, or Google Professional Cloud Architect are a strong plus.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
