Sourcing Manager will negotiate critical program components based on knowledge of program requirements from initial request through contract completion and turnover; this includes recommending supplier and destinations options & solutions. Proactively negotiates prices and contracts, and creates reasonable preliminary budgets. Communicates with key business advisors and suppliers on a timely basis, information relative to strategic meetings management program operations. Follows standard operating procedures for all sourcing activity. Negotiates and contracts between 100 - 200 programs worldwide on an annual basis, however, the scope of this position is dependent upon assigned account/programs and may vary from client to client.
The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, ability to make others feel at ease, has a strong grasp of business/social etiquette, is a self-starter with procurement management, meetings management, client management and people management experience, ideally at very senior levels. Up to 10%-15% travel required (both domestic and international). Performs other duties as required.
What We're Looking For:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project, event or meeting management, at least 1 of which are in procurement required
4 year degree preferred/ CMP designation preferred
Experience supporting pharmaceutical accounts required
Experience in hotel buying required
Shown negotiation skills required
Knowledge of domestic hotels and destinations required, international a plus
Knowledge of travel supplier operations, overall capabilities/range of services
Program management system experience preferred, especially with an online sourcing tool
Understanding of and ability to effect win/win solutions
Operations experience in hospitality industry or equivalent a plus
Prior successful experience in developing and maintaining key client and supplier relationships
Prior experience in effectively handling multiple projects/demands
Strong knowledge of program/event management and budget maintenance
Shown interest in technology and/or software solutions and analytical skills required
Ability to travel by airplane, boat, rail and/or car

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $46,000 to $93,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
