Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Compensation Sr. Manager with experience in executive and broad-base compensation to join our team. In this role, you will be a key advisor to senior leadership and HR business partners. You will collaborate with business leaders, HR teams, and cross-functional partners to design, implement, and manage compensation programs that align with organizational goals, promote pay equity, and support talent acquisition and retention. Your insights will shape and elevate our compensation strategies across global markets, ensuring Yahoo remains a leader in attracting and retaining top talent.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of executive compensation packages, including base salary, bonuses, equity awards, and other executive pay practices

  • Handle all aspects of executive pay, including creating materials for board and committee meetings.

  • Collaborate with the equity administration team to ensure accurate processing and reporting of executive awards. 

  • Serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to HRBPs, Talent Acquisition and the business leaders by delivering data-driven insights and recommendations that align with Yahoo’s compensation philosophy and business objectives

  • Collaborate on the design and execution of key compensation programs including annual base pay increases, bonuses and equity plans

  • Contribute to development and management of Yahoo’s global compensation structures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, market trends, and the company’s long-term growth 

  • Conduct comprehensive market research and benchmarking to ensure that Yahoo’s competitive compensation packages are aligned with industry standards

  • Stay at the forefront of compensation trends, emerging best practices, and government regulations. Leverage market intelligence to inform and evolve compensation strategies, anticipating changes in the external landscape.

 Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in compensation and human resources, with a solid understanding of compensation programs (base pay, bonuses, equity) and executive compensation, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets, with the ability to manage large, complex data sets and perform detailed analysis.

  • Deep analytical mindset with the ability to extract insights from compensation data and drive data-based decisions

  • Demonstrated ability to consult and influence across all levels, leveraging data and business acumen.

  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal labor laws as it relates to compensation (e.g., FLSA, pay equity requirements)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex compensation concepts to both HR and business leaders

  • High attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy, ensuring compliance and integrity in all compensation-related processes.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Finance, Business or equivalent.

  • Experience working in a global or multi-national organization

  • Professional certification in compensation (CCP) or human resources (PHR) preferred

The compensation for this position ranges from $110,625.00 - $230,625.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
